Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi S5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

The following message appears in the MMI: ?This service is currently unavailable. Please try again later.? The customer may also see an error message in the myAudi portal indicating that one or multiple licenses are expired and must be renewed. Additionally, if the vehicle is a model year 2016 A6, A7, or TT, the customer may not be able to see speed and flow traffic information in the navigation map screen, and may consistently see that no traffic reports are available. For these vehicles, traffic is provided by INRIX online.
A911526 2042097-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The traffic feature in the MMI navigation is inoperative. If the vehicle is a model year 2016 A6 or A7, see TSB 2042013: 91 Audi connect online destination search, Google Earth navigation view, or INRIX online traffic is not available. A871342 2020124-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 12-37 dated November 16, 2012. Air conditioning is inoperative. The HVAC blower functions normally. Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off. The A/C pressure/temperature sensor, G395, leaks refrigerant. This causes sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate. The LIN cable connecting the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, to sensor G395 is pinched or cut. This affects the A4/S4, A5/S5 Coupe and Cabriolet, and Audi Q5 vehicles. The A6 and A8 are not affected by this type of failure. The pressure sensor G395/G65 sends an incorrect signal that prevents bus silence and the battery is discharged. Sensor G395 is a LIN slave of the vehicle electrical system control module. The vehicle electrical system control module transfers the information provided by the sensor via the comfort data bus to the climate control module, J255.
A911387 2024683-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 10-68 dated October 26, 2010. A201225 2031607-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; EQUIPMENT. The instrument cluster displays a fuel range of zero miles before the fuel tank is completely empty. Upon refueling at a displayed fuel range of zero miles, the fuel tank accepts fewer gallons than what is shown in the owner? s manual capacity chart. To ensure mobility, a small amount of fuel is still available when a fuel range of zero miles is initially displayed. Additionally, the fuel range is calculated based on the most recent driving style. Therefore, the actual amount of fuel remaining may vary when a fuel range of zero is initially displayed.

A911263 2021151-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle.

On Audi vehicles with electromechanical power steering manufactured within a specific period, an irregularity detected by the diagnosis function can result in an implausible status immediately after the engine is started. This causes the warning lamp for the electromechanical power steering to light up. There is no loss of steering functionality.
A901238 2032113-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc.
A961485 2027416-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-61 dated May 28, 2013. Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.
Update Bulletin2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. On Audi vehicles manufactured within a specific period, the refrigerant pressure sensor for the air conditioner may fail after a period of time. As a result, the air conditioner compressor is switched off. This Update is in effect until removed.
