Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi S5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

885 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

37 13 07 20336582022-05-02. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who consciously or unconsciously drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. As a result, application of the brake and accelerator pedals at the same time (brake pedal with left foot and accelerator pedal with right foot) results in the following: ? Brake pedal function (normal at all times) overrides any throttle application. ? Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will not be stored. ? When the brake pedal is applied while the accelerator is depressed, engine RPMs will return to idle speeds of 1400 RPMs after approximately two seconds. ? When the accelerator is applied while the brake pedal is depressed, the vehicle accelerates slower than usual (reduced engine torque).

A461486 2022584-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; AIR BAGS; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Brake-related vibration and pulsation has several causes that depend on driving style and resulting brake disc temperature, as well as environmental conditions. Both the intensity of the wear of the brake system and the type of wear depend on the operating conditions of the vehicle. The wear of the brake discs is determined by the frequency and intensity of the brake operations. Dirt build-up, exposure to sand, long standing times, and road salt or similar, can also promote wear as well as cause scoring marks on the brake discs. The driving style of the driver also influences the wear of the brake system. An overly-aggressive driving style, which results in frequent sharp braking, can lead to more wear (particularly of the brake pads). A gentle driving style can result in very light brake applications. If the brakes are always applied with little pressure, a rust film and other airborne particles may settle on the brake discs and pads. Firm brake operations can help clean off such build-up from the brakes.
A461772 20478302018-02-05. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. This informational bulletin contains instructions for proper brake maintenance.
A471405 2030704-2017-12-14. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 47 number 12-04 dated September 5, 2012. Rattling noises are heard from the front axle when the vehicle is driven over bumpy or rough roads. Poor quality of some retaining springs causes this condition. Functionality of the brakes is not affected.
A461468 2034181-2017-12-14. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 14-67 dated January 21, 2014. Customer may report hearing brake noise from front or rear brakes. Customers may describe these noises as a squeal, squeak, grinding, groaning, thumping, or creaking. Before proceeding with any of the following steps, check for any applicable TSBs for brake noise. This TSB should not be used if another brake noise TSB is available for the vehicle. For additional helpful information, refer to the Audi Brake Systems brochure.
A011303 2033919-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE:DRIVELINE:HYDRAULIC:ACTUATOR. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-02 dated May 29, 2013. MIL on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module. There may be slight power reduction at high RPMs. One of the vacuum actuators on intake runner bank 1 or bank 2 is defective.
A461356 2034181-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 13-53 dated August 7, 2013. A531302 2034404-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report that the vehicle does not start due to a discharged battery. DTC U101100 (supply voltage too low) is stored in the gateway, J533 (address word 19), and/or the electronic parking brake (EPB) control module, J540 (address word 53). According to the test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", the EPB control module kept the data bus active for prolonged periods of time. The EPB switch appears to be permanently operating (applying or releasing the parking brake) due to an internal mechanical issue or because it is jammed or blocked by debris or by a foreign object. Test plan "19-Read Data Bus Keep-Awake Manager", identifies the EPB control module as keeping the data bus active for prolonged periods of time.
A461348 2034404-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 53 number 13-02 dated July 11, 2013. A461347 2034387-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report sporadically hearing the parking brake being actuated after the vehicle has been switched off. If the customer does not identify the sound as the sound of the parking brake being actuated, he or she may simply complain of hearing noises from the rear brakes. Ignition is switched off. Steering is locked. Park is selected. Parking brake is not engaged. If the electro-mechanical parking brake is not operated for some time, the free play between brake pads and brake discs increases because of normal brake pad wear. The parking brake control unit performs an automatic correction about every 621 miles (1,000 km). On A8 models, the brake pad thickness is also calculated.
A461336 2028420-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 12-17 dated January 18, 2012. The customer may complain of hearing a high-pitched squeal or squeak from the brake system when brakes are used with light to moderate effort. The concern may occur more frequently with colder weather. The vehicle production date is on or after Sep 3, 2012 (Calendar Week 36/2012). Changes to certain brake components were implemented in S4, S5, and S5 Cabriolet models produced as of Sep 3, 2012. To closely monitor complaints of noise on these vehicles, we are asking that you contact the Audi Technical Assistance Center (TAC) before replacing any parts on vehicles produced after this date.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
