Service bulletins for the 2016 Audi S3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage. |

The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone receives the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. | A911588 2026390- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. When a phonebook with a large number of contacts is being downloaded, the MMI screen freezes Briefly after the initial Bluetooth connection (shortly after the phone is bonded to the vehicle), after the ignition is switched on (shortly after the phone automatically reconnects with the vehicle), and after the phonebook has downloaded. When the voice recognition system is used, a message appears in the MMI screen stating that the phone book is too large and that the voice recognition system cannot be used. When music is streamed to the MMI system with the Bluetooth A2DP connection, the music intermittently pauses or seems to skip. The condition goes away once the phonebook transfer is completed. The MMI uses a limited portion of the total memory to convert the name and phone number fields of downloaded contacts into a voice command (text to speech). Extensive processing takes place if too many letters are used in the first and last name fields or if numbers or special characters are entered. The remaining memory is dynamically assigned to different applications which can also affect the capacity of the voice command processing. The MMI does not respond until the process is completed or it may freeze if phonebook fields are too large or do not follow typical formatting. In addition, the text-to-speech capacity is exceeded and the voice recognition system is rendered inactive. |
| A871563 2010146- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 14-54 dated August 28, 2014. The odor usually occurs within 20 to 60 seconds after the vehicle is started. Condensation, which is a normal condition in all A/C systems, can cause a musty odor. If the odor is noticeable in the vehicle when the engine is not turned on, the cause may be mold and mildew in the passenger compartment, and not be related to the A/C system. All other possible sources of the odor must be investigated before this bulletin can be performed. |
