Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi R8
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.
428 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

| 144820361941 | 2022-08-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The dashboard lights and controls may briefly flicker under hard acceleration after downshifting or when the engine is revved while the vehicle is stationary. The issue does not occur during normal driving, and all instrumentation continues to operate correctly. During periods of low electrical load (and especially when the battery is fully charged), the energy spike generated by the alternator due to the rapid increase in engine speed cannot be completely absorbed by the vehicle electrical system. This leads to a voltage increase that can cause some modules to initiate overvoltage protection. The condition is very brief and is considered normal. |

| 130320319102 | 2022-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Because the R8 is not equipped with a dual mass flywheel, engine vibrations go directly into the transmission. Gears that are not engaged will vibrate, causing a rattling noise. This noise does not affect the performance of the vehicle. |
| 120120319101 | 2022-08-01. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION. The R8 is not equipped with a dual mass flywheel therefore the engine vibrations go directly into the gearbox. The gears which are not engaged will vibrate and cause a rattling noise. This noise will not affect the performance of the vehicle. |

| 37 14 30 2003658 | 2022-05-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC):CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN. This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off). |
| 37 13 07 2033658 | 2022-05-02. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who consciously or unconsciously drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. As a result, application of the brake and accelerator pedals at the same time (brake pedal with left foot and accelerator pedal with right foot) results in the following: ? Brake pedal function (normal at all times) overrides any throttle application. ? Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will not be stored. ? When the brake pedal is applied while the accelerator is depressed, engine RPMs will return to idle speeds of 1400 RPMs after approximately two seconds. ? When the accelerator is applied while the brake pedal is depressed, the vehicle accelerates slower than usual (reduced engine torque). |
