Service bulletins for the 2016 Audi Q5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. A911588 2026390-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. When a phonebook with a large number of contacts is being downloaded, the MMI screen freezes Briefly after the initial Bluetooth connection (shortly after the phone is bonded to the vehicle), after the ignition is switched on (shortly after the phone automatically reconnects with the vehicle), and after the phonebook has downloaded. When the voice recognition system is used, a message appears in the MMI screen stating that the phone book is too large and that the voice recognition system cannot be used. When music is streamed to the MMI system with the Bluetooth A2DP connection, the music intermittently pauses or seems to skip. The condition goes away once the phonebook transfer is completed. The MMI uses a limited portion of the total memory to convert the name and phone number fields of downloaded contacts into a voice command (text to speech). Extensive processing takes place if too many letters are used in the first and last name fields or if numbers or special characters are entered. The remaining memory is dynamically assigned to different applications which can also affect the capacity of the voice command processing. The MMI does not respond until the process is completed or it may freeze if phonebook fields are too large or do not follow typical formatting. In addition, the text-to-speech capacity is exceeded and the voice recognition system is rendered inactive.
A871563 2010146-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 14-54 dated August 28, 2014. There is an unpleasant, musty odor coming from the heating and ventilation system. The odor usually occurs when the vehicle has been sitting unused for five hours or more. The odor usually occurs within 20 to 60 seconds after the vehicle is started. Condensation, which is a normal condition in all A/C systems, can cause a musty odor. If the odor is noticeable in the vehicle when the engine is not turned on, the cause may be mold and mildew in the passenger compartment, and not be related to the A/C system. All other possible sources of the odor must be investigated before this bulletin can be performed.
A871562 2040653-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. The air conditioning system does not blow cold air. DTCs are stored in the air conditioning / heating electronics control module, J255 (address word 08). In the course of diagnosis, the refrigerant circuit volume is checked and the refrigerant volume is correct. No leaks can be found. Normally, the diagnostic conclusion faults the high pressure sensor G395, and it is subsequently replaced. The air conditioning system then functions normally. G395 sensors returned to Auburn Hills for testing reveal no malfunction with the sensor. Audi of America is requesting your cooperation in supplying us with technical information regarding this issue.

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-27 dated March 4, 2014. The addresses and contacts stored in the Navigation >> Favorites, Navigation >> Directory, and Navigation >> Last destinations submenus disappear intermittently. Intermittently, the MMI system does not appear to remember that the user's myAudi PIN has already been entered, and it requires the user to enter the PIN again. The voice recognition system does not easily recognize commands spoken by the driver. This condition can be consistent or intermittent. Multiple voice recognition training sessions can be stored in the MMI for different users when different phones are Bluetooth-paired during each training session. If no phone is paired, the training session will be stored under a default profile. This profile will be used each time the voice recognition system is used without a phone being paired to the MMI.
