Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi A8
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A301519 2019850- | 2018-02-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 30 number 11-10 dated December 2, 2011. Clutch is not operating properly. Clutch has a burnt smell. Incorrect shifting, the revolutions of clutch plate and engine input shaft differ too much, excessive slipping of the clutch, and when the clutch is pressed and an incorrect lower gear is selected, can result in clutch damage. |
|---|---|
| A301722 2019850- | 2018-02-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. This technical service bulletin provides guidelines for diagnosing the clutch plate. |
| A371448 2030007- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-65 dated September 25, 2012. Customer may report harsh shift concerns, but the customer is unable to determine the shift point because there is no gear indicator in the cluster. The concern can be reproduced. No faults are stored. TAC must be contacted before any repairs are attempted. Specific information about the concern must be gathered (as described in the Service portion of this bulletin) before TAC is contacted. |
| A371309 2028715- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-40 dated February 28, 2012. Rough gear changes, both when accelerating and when slowing down. There is a rough driving power disruption that occurs sporadically and lasts for less than a second. After a mechatronics, torque converter, or complete gearbox replacement, the clutches must be adapted to the new component. This requires a gradual move of the clutch linings toward the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. As a result, sporadic driving power disruptions lasting for less than a second or reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles. This is normal, and these issues will decrease over time. The issues can also occur if the adaptation values of the gearbox were deleted. |
| A661330 2030471- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 12-24 dated August 24, 2012. Customer may report the license plate attachment screws do not install properly. The license plate brackets are designed to be used with the appropriate length screw installed by hand with a screwdriver. Damaged warranty parts have been returned to Audi of America with evidence of excessive torque used when installing the screw and/or excessive screw length. |
| A371437 2037137- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Customer may report feeling a slight hesitation or delay at 5-9 mph after accelerating from a stop. Incorrect software calibration in the engine control module (ECM), J623, and transmission control module (TCM). New software in the ECM and TCM addressed the condition. |
| A371436 2037151- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). DTC P174900 (Automatic transmission control module incorrect code) appears in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) after an SVM update. The self-coding function of the TCM may not complete during a software update. |
| A371430 2003658- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:CLUTCH ASSEMBLY:PEDAL/HAND LEVER(MOTORCYCLE). Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 13-07 dated May 29, 2013. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off). No DTCs are stored. This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. |
| A971442 2036764- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 14-41 dated March 18, 2014. The MIL is on. Vehicle will not start. DTC P068A00 is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). The motronic engine control module power supply relay, J271, is not functioning properly. Because the J271 relay controls battery voltage (Terminal 30) via a ground signal sent from the ECM, numerous faults can occur in multiple control modules when it is not functioning properly. |

If a 2012 - 2015 Audi A8 L W12 arrives at an Audi dealership and requires diagnosis or repair, a Repair Authorization must be obtained. Prior to any repair, a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) ticket must be created for engine and transmission concerns only. Routine maintenance and PDI do not require prior authorization or a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) ticket. These procedures are mandatory until further notice. Warranty repairs without repair authorization via a TAC contact will not be reimbursed. |

This also applies to any messages related to AdBlue shown in the DIS. These procedures are mandatory until further notice. Routine maintenance, PDI, and repair of other systems do not require prior authorization or a TAC ticket. Any repairs related to the engine, diesel fuel delivery, exhaust after-treatment (SCR/AdBlue or emissions) systems, or transmission completed without Repair Authorization via a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) contact will not be reimbursed.
