Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi A3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

011396202336042022-09-26. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Contaminated or incorrect fuel can cause performance, drivability, and/or fuel delivery problems. Additional component replacement may be necessary to ensure that no contamination or debris remains after repair. Reasons for fuel contamination can include: water ingress in the fuel station?s holding tanks, errors made in fuel transport, or incorrect fuel has been dispensed into the vehicle.
011309201475382022-09-26. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. The use of contaminated gasoline or gasoline with a low content of deposit control additives may result in one or more conditions.
1315202758542022-08-01. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Because of exhaust gas pulsations, the wastegate flap and rods vibrate at the start of the boost air control. This vibration causes rattling or jarring noises.
1440203383622022-08-01. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Beginning with MY2009, the filler necks of various TDI clean diesel vehicles were equipped with a misfueling guard (Figure 1). The guard minimizes the likelihood that fuel other than ultra-low sulfur diesel will be put into the vehicle. The misfueling guard is designed to remain in a locked position when a nozzle with a diameter typically suited for non-diesel fuels (approximately 13/16?, or 20.6mm) is inserted, to prevent further insertion of the nozzle into the filler neck. A nozzle with a larger diameter typically suited for diesel fuel (approximately 15/16?, or 23.8mm) will unlock the misfueling guard when inserted, allowing the nozzle to be further inserted into the filler neck.
1326203383612022-08-01. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Beginning with MY2013, the filler necks of all A3 TDI vehicles are equipped with a misfueling guard (Figure 1).
1453203901812022-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. A small amount of dry or crusted coolant is seen on the coolant pump housing (Figure 1, Figure 2, and Figure 3). The coolant level warning is not on. A minor coolant leak is possible during the break-in phase of the coolant seal on the coolant pump. The dry coolant marks are normal.
1475203666822022-08-01. Service bulletin. STEERING; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; SERVICE BRAKES. When diagnosing a MIL on, no-start, or rough running concern on a common rail diesel vehicle, and no root cause is found after checking all other components and following all GFF diagnostic procedures, it may be necessary to check for metallic particles in the High Pressure Fuel Pump.

A171568 2028440-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-49 dated April 3, 2014. When the vehicle is completely refueled, the vehicle range (?distance to empty?) that is displayed is different than the vehicle range that was displayed the last time the vehicle was completely refueled. The displayed vehicle range drops inconsistently. After the vehicle is refueled, the displayed vehicle range does not change for a long period of time. When the vehicle is driven on hilly roads for a long period of time, the displayed vehicle range suddenly changes by a significant amount. There are no DTCs related to fuel senders stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board computer.
