Loud cracking or rubbing noises when turning steering wheel. Steering is not affected and will operate normally. Prior to performing this TSB, check whether the vehicle is equipped with rubber shock absorber stop and the plastic cap on the shock. Vehicles equipped with the Audi magnetic ride suspension may not be equipped with these components and this TSB will not be applicable to such vehicles. While steering, the shock absorber stop can chafe on the plastic cap of the suspension strut. If the vehicle is lifted up, the noise disappears. The boot is not properly secured / installed, or is deformed. |
| A911267 2029197- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Customer states volume fluctuates unnaturally. This may be described as significant increases in Bass or Treble levels shortly after startup, in conjunction with Park Aid, or during normal driving. Only applies to vehicles equipped with BOSE sound system (PR No. 8RY) Vehicles with a BOSE sound system in conjunction with AudioPilot are equipped with dynamic driving noise compensation. It adjusts playback volume and/or equalization depending on noise inside the vehicle. This function is perceived as a flat increase in volume as the cabin noise increases, usually due to increases in speed. In some vehicles, issues with the vehicle microphones may cause the volume to noticeably change at times when it is not necessary, such as in a parking lot, or when backing out of a driveway. |
| A941296 2027773- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-69 dated March 15, 2012. Part or all of the daytime running lights do not work on vehicles with LED DRLs. For vehicles with halogen DRLs, please reference TSB 2017488, 94 Halogen Daytime running lights do not work. In the past, the daytime running light bulbs were a serviceable part. In this application, the LED strip cannot be replaced, and may have an associated control module. This TSB is for servicing information only. |
| A911263 2021151- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle. |
| A401228 2031722- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; SUSPENSION; EQUIPMENT. Customer may report creaking and squeaking noises from front axle when driving at low temperatures on rough/bumpy/uneven roads. The customer complaint can be reproduced. The sound comes from the rubber and metal mounting of the front track control arms. The rubber lip of the rubber metal mounting rubs on the collar of the control arm. The resulting stickslip effect creates this sound, which does not affect the service life and function of the components. This is a normal condition. Track control arm bushings that are completely cracked through should be replaced. |
| A901238 2032113- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc. |
| A911450 2018187- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-02 dated August 30, 2013. Customer may report that cracking, grinding, rattling, humming, whining, or similar interference is coming from one or more speakers. Parts of the speakers (such as the brackets, cables, or covers) or parts of the interior fittings (such as door covers, rear shelf, facings, or covers) can vibrate at certain frequencies, causing noises. The radio tuner or other control modules may be affected by electromagnetic interference from aftermarket electronic devices. |
| A001467 2002047- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 14-61 dated May 1, 2014. Technician preparation when calling the Audi Technical Assistance Center (TAC). |
| A001463 2033576- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 13-49 dated May 14, 2013. Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage. |
| A911438 2033780- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-83 dated May 2, 2013. Apple® devices with the new 8-pin plug will not play videos using the Audi Music Interface. The current Apple devices have a new plug assignment: the 30-pin plug has been replaced with an 8-pin plug. | A911437 2030947- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-92 dated July 16, 2013. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone receives the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call because it assumes that the phone is not responding. |
| A911435 2026895- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-19 dated January 3, 2014. This TSB provides guidelines for testing microphones in a vehicle. |
| A961482 2036344- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:ANTI-THEFT DEVICES. The vehicle's anti-theft alarm sounds when the driver door is unlocked with a mechanical key. No DTCs are stored. The keyless remote was not used to unlock the vehicle. In order to minimize current draw after the ignition has been turned off, the electronics system of the vehicle goes into sleep mode. During this time, each module monitors the CAN bus more slowly than when the electronics system is awake. Because the system is being monitored more slowly, there is a delay in the waking of the central locking system. This delay causes a delay in the disabling of the anti-theft alarm system when the manual key is used. If the key is turned in less than a quarter of a second, the system can unlock the vehicle even though the anti-theft alarm has not been disabled. |
| A911429 2026888- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-50 dated August 1, 2012. Echo effects, caller on either end cannot hear conversation, sound distortion or feedback, and the sound is distorted, hisses, or scrapes occur during a phone call. This bulletin provides guidelines for analyzing the call quality of the Bluetooth system in the vehicle, and is not applicable to any Audi warranty. |

| A911312 2035013- | 2017-11-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC (ASC); EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT. Customer states the radio has a faint background static. No audio source is present. An audio source with low volume is being played. The vehicle is utilizing hill-hold. Vehicles with hill-hold (PR No. UG1 or UG4) and Audi Navigation Plus (PR No. 7Q2) are affected. There is electromagnetic interference between the ESP power supply and the wires for the radio. This proximity caused interference to enter the audio lines for the radio, causing the static. |
