Service bulletin CAMP/95C35

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

RECALL CAMPAIGN 95-C-35 - GENERAL MOTORS HAS DETERMINED THAT CERTAIN EARLY PRODUCTION 1995 4-DOOR JIMMYS HAVE A CONDITION WHICH COULD RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE IN CERTAIN HIGH SPEED FRONTAL COLLISIONS. IF ONE OF THESE VEHICLES, WITH A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK, WERE INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN THOSE SPECIFIED BY FEDERAL SAFETY STANDARDS A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK COULD OCCUR RESULTING IN FUEL LEAKAGE. TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION, DEALERS ARE TO APPLY A SEAL AND COVER TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE TANK BOTTOM. *TW
