## NHTSA's summary

Daimler Truck North America LLC \(DTNA\) has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2026\-2027 Freightliner Business Class M2 and eM2 and Freightliner Custom Chassis S2RV and S2C vehicles. The headlights may contain a software defect, which can cause the low beam headlights to illuminate improperly. Reduced low beam headlight illumination can decrease roadway visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Daimler Truck North America authorized service facility will remedy the affected vehicles by updating the relevant software to allow sufficient low beam headlamp light intensity after operating in high beam mode under elevated ambient temperatures.
