# Service bulletin TSB 26\-2423

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 11037538
- Published by NHTSA: 2026\-09\-29
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 26\-2423
- Manufacturer's date: 2026\-09\-23
- NHTSA component: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; AIR BAGS

## NHTSA's summary

This bulletin supersedes 26\-2280. Reason for update: To add 2027 vehicle models, update the Parts list to change the tape, and revise Step 4 to change the tape and wrap an additional wiring harness. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model Statement above may exhibit a concern where the horn intermittently sounds when turning the steering wheel. This may be due to incorrect routing of a wire harness in the steering wheel, a loose strand of wire protruding from a wire harness and grounding the driver airbag, and/or a concern with one of the driver airbag mounting points.

- [TSB 26\-2358 V2](/bulletins/11037654.md), 2026-10-01, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY/WIPER. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above equipped with one\-touch up/down windows may exhibit a condition where a window does not respond to one\-touch controls, does not open all the way and/or bounces back when using the one\-touch close function.
- [SSM 55208](/bulletins/11037569.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2024\-2026 F\-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025\-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module \(BCM\) when performing a Self\-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self\-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note: This guidance only applies to U211B with the specific failure byte 43 in status 48. Any other trusted real\-time operation network \(TRON\) DTCs or different failure bytes associated with U211B are still applicable and technicians must follow Workshop Manual \(WSM\) normal diagnostics for those DTCs.

- [SSM 55168](/bulletins/11037315.md), 2026-09-15, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2027 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with power running boards may exhibit an intermittent condition where the power running boards are unable to deploy or retract with a "Power Running Board Fault" message in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). Diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) C1008:15 and/or C1009:15 may be stored in the driver seat module \(DSM\). DTC U0208 and/or U0244 may also be stored in various other modules. Other DSM functions may be affected such as heated/cooled/memory seats. This may be due to the software in the DSM.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the DSM does not respond during a network test, press the power seat adjustment switch then re\-run the network test to see if DSM communication is restored. Engineering requires feedback for this action. Submit a Global Concern Report \(GCR\) indicating if DSM communication was restored after actuating the power seat adjustment switch, noting the DTCs present. To submit a report, click on the "Submit Global Concern Report \(GCR\)" link at the upper right of the Professional Technician System \(PTS\) Vehicle ID screen \(vehicle identification number ÝVIN¨ requi

Some 2025\-2026 Aviator/Explorer/Expedition/F\-150/Mustang Mach\-E/Nautilus/Navigator vehicles may exhibit the hands\-free BlueCruise feature intermittently/consistently unavailable when BlueCruise is active and when traveling in a "Blue Zone". Speed sign recognition may also be inaccurate. If there are no active relevant diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) present and the issue persists after multiple key cycles and if the BlueCruise System Health Check passes, download and run the "TCU \- Reset Telematics Control Unit \(TCU\) Module" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). If the condition is resolved, inform customers that this may be a temporary fix and engineering is currently working on a solution expected in Q4 2026. Monitor Professional Technician System \(PTS\) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. For claiming, use causal 14G229 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4. If the condition persists after a test drive, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 419\-03B for normal
