Service bulletin HTB2608

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

During backwards rolling, the rear brake caliper may crack near the primary pin casting, which may cause the caliper to break when riding. Cracks or breaks in the rear brake caliper can reduce braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash. To remedy this defect, the rear brake caliper including the caliper bracket must be replaced on all affected motorcycles.
