Complaint Clacking and creaking noises from the engine compartment during load changes, especially when driving off after a cold start and at outside temperatures below 41°F. Cause Lower engine stabilizer mount A178 240 15 00 causes noise. Remedy The problem is temperature\-dependent and is no longer present after the vehicle has warmed up. In escalation cases, remove the lower engine stabilizer mount A178 240 15 00 and replace it with the lower engine stabilizer mount A178 240 15 00 28.
