# Service bulletin SSM 55037

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2018\-2024 Expedition and 2018\-2027 Navigator vehicles equipped with a rear seat entertainment system/Lincoln Play may experience various system concerns. Rear seat entertainment systems are not on a controller area network \(CAN\) and are not supported by the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System \(FDRS\). Certain system concerns may be resolved through software updates which will automatically download once each individual monitor is connected to Wi\-Fi. Diagnostic support for rear seat entertainment systems is provided by VOXX electronics. If necessary, contact the VOXX Customer Service Department at 1\-866\-869\-7888. If possible, record the device serial number by selecting the gear/Setup icon \> Settings \> Device and Software \> About. If the unit will not power up, the serial number is on a label on the back of the monitor. It is helpful to know the date the issue occurred, how long the monitors were on prior to the issue, what app/input/media was being used, and if the system software was recently updated prior to the concern starting. For claiming, refer to the Warranty and Policy manual for

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 55226](/bulletins/11038439.md), 2026-10-12, Service bulletin: SEATS; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. For 2020\-2026 Aviator/Corsair and 2018\-2026 Navigator vehicles, if diagnostics in Workshop Manual \(WSM\) Section 501\-10A \> Front Seats \> Diagnosis and Testing lead to the replacement of the front seat cushion extension adjuster, a lower\-level part is now available \(14C720\). It is not necessary to replace the front seat cushion extension adjuster if only the front seat cushion extension motor assembly is damaged. For Corsair, use service part LJ7Z\-14C720\-A. For Aviator, use service part R2TZ\-14C720\-A. For 2025\-2026 Navigator \(both sides\) and 2018\-2024 Navigator driver side, use service part NL7Z\-14C720\-A. For 2018\-2024 Navigator passenger side, use service part NL7Z\-14C720\-B.
- [SSM 55220](/bulletins/11038437.md), 2026-10-12, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2024\-2026 Nautilus and 2025\-2026 Explorer/Aviator/Expedition/Navigator vehicles may experience Android Auto connection or general Bluetooth pairing concerns for both Android and IOS after an APIM software update. This may be due to the APIM software. To temporarily correct the issue:\<br /\>\<br /\> \* For Android Auto related issues: Clear Android Auto app storage in the center display screen. Vehicle Settings \> Settings \> Apps \> Android Auto \> Clear Storage. \<br /\> \* For general Bluetooth connectivity issues: Clear Contacts Storage app storage in the center display screen. Vehicle Settings \> Apps \> Uncheck hide system apps \> Contacts Storage \> Clear Storage.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the condition persists, perform a master reset from the center display screen, remove the vehicle from the phone, then re\-pair the device.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the condition continues to persist, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 415\-00 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the condition is resolved, inform customers that engineering is currently working on a permanent solution
- [DDM\-PDM\-26.21.7 Exped\&Nav](/bulletins/11037820.md), 2026-10-02, Over\-the\-air update: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Quality improvements include: \-Software update to improve responsiveness of the door control system after the vehicle enters a low\-power state

- [TSB 26\-2358 V2](/bulletins/11037654.md), 2026-10-01, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY/WIPER. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above equipped with one\-touch up/down windows may exhibit a condition where a window does not respond to one\-touch controls, does not open all the way and/or bounces back when using the one\-touch close function.
- [SSM 55208](/bulletins/11037569.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2024\-2026 F\-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025\-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module \(BCM\) when performing a Self\-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self\-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note: This guidance only applies to U211B with the specific failure byte 43 in status 48. Any other trusted real\-time operation network \(TRON\) DTCs or different failure bytes associated with U211B are still applicable and technicians must follow Workshop Manual \(WSM\) normal diagnostics for those DTCs.
- [SSM 55198](/bulletins/11037562.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; SEATS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2025\-2027 Navigator vehicles equipped with multi\-contour seats \(minor feature code BYBAL\) may exhibit a condition where the second\-row seat does not return to the latched position \(under power\) after pressing the power return button \(located on the outboard side of the seatback\). To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double\-clicking the vehicle identification number \(VIN\) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System \(PTS\). This may be caused by an occupant pulling the manual release strap. The manual release strap is intended to be used in emergency situations only where power seat operation is not available. Pulling the manual release strap disengages the seat pitch motor clutch. To correct the condition, the seat pitch motor clutch must re\-engage with the seating system. Starting with the seat in the rearward position, press the power seat pitch button once and release it. While the seat is in motion, gently guide the headrest and seatback downward, moving the seat approximately halfway down toward the strikers \(without
- [SSM 55194](/bulletins/11037561.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021\-2024 Mustang Mach\-E, 2025\-2026 Navigator and 2024 F\-150 vehicles may exhibit inoperative welcome/approach detection lights. This may be due to the body control module \(BCM\) software. To correct the condition, download and run the "BCM \- Programmable Module Installation \(PMI\)" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. If the condition persists after PMI, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 417\-01 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and labor operations 12651D and BCM.
- [TCU\-26.2.11.5 Exped\&Nav](/bulletins/11037519.md), 2026-09-28, Over\-the\-air update: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Quality improvements include: \- Connectivity robustness updates
