# Service bulletin SSM 54975

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2023\-2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R100 or 10R140 transmission may exhibit an intermittent failure to engage forward or reverse gears and/or a loud whining noise. Additionally, the driver will be able to shift back to park. This may be due to PCM software being unable to command the transmission solenoid clutch actuators when the battery has a low state of charge \(SoC\) and/or the vehicle has been jump started. To restore proper transmission functionality, charge the battery as stated in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 414\-01 Charging System \> General Information. Cycle the ignition on then off and leave the vehicle off for 5 minutes to confirm the condition is no longer present. To prevent this issue from reoccurring, refer to the Owner's Manual \> Storing Your Vehicle \> Preparing Your Vehicle for Storage \> 12V Battery. Replacement of transmission components will not resolve this condition. Inform the customer that the condition has no impact on transmission durability. For claiming, use causal part 12A650 and labor operations 12650D, 12650D45, and 12650D81.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 55239](/bulletins/11038444.md), 2026-10-13, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2023\-2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a trailer brake control module and built on or before 08\-May\-2026 may exhibit a "Trailer Disconnected" message after cycling the ignition off and back on with a trailer connected. This may be due to the presence of an integrated battery charger on a trailer equipped with electric over hydraulic brakes. If trailer functionality is restored after unplugging and plugging the trailer connector back in while the ignition is on, this condition can be corrected by downloading and performing the "Trailer Brake Configuration" application using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 19H332 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4. Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 417\-01 Exterior Lighting \> Diagnosis and Testing \> Trailer Lamps \> Pinpoint Test G The Message Center Displays A False Trailer Disconnected Message When A Trailer Is Connected To The Vehicle \- Only For Electric Over Hydraulic \(EOH\) Equipped Trailers When Vehicle Trailer Brake Type Setting Is Set To Electric Over Hydraulic has bee
- [TSB 26\-2375 v2](/bulletins/11038441.md), 2026-10-13, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. NOTE: This bulletin has been updated, refer to the change log at the bottom for details. Issue: Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit all of the following conditions: • Poor shift quality • Illuminated powertrain malfunction \(wrench\) indicator with DTCs P2704 and P0771 stored in the PCM / TCM . This may be due to a calibration in the TCM and/or wear between the input shaft and the E clutch hub causing theinput shaft O\-rings to become damaged resulting in an open E clutch circuit. Action: For vehicles that meet all of the criteria in the Issue and Model statements, follow the Service Procedure toreprogram the PCM / TCM and/or replace the E clutch hub and input shaft O\-rings
- [SSM 55218](/bulletins/11038166.md), 2026-10-06, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. For 20202026 vehicles equipped with the 10R140 transmission, a new Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test has been introduced in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). This test utilizes the pressure and vacuum transducer \(PVT\) when available. Workshop Manual \(WSM\) updates related to this diagnostic procedure are planned for release in Q4 2026. The new test improves the accuracy of detecting leaks within transmission fluid circuits and replaces the previous air check method. The previous air check procedure has been shown to produce a high rate of false positives, which may lead to unnecessary repairs when no actual leak is present. Accordingly, the air check procedure is not to be used for diagnosing internal transmission hydraulic leaks or as justification for transmission replacement.
- [SSM 55208](/bulletins/11037569.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2024\-2026 F\-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025\-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module \(BCM\) when performing a Self\-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self\-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note: This guidance only applies to U211B with the specific failure byte 43 in status 48. Any other trusted real\-time operation network \(TRON\) DTCs or different failure bytes associated with U211B are still applicable and technicians must follow Workshop Manual \(WSM\) normal diagnostics for those DTCs.
