# Service bulletin SSM 54803

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 11032686
- Published by NHTSA: 2026\-05\-14
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 54803

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2025 Mustang Mach\-E vehicles built on or before 30\-Jun\-2025 and 2024 F\-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit a flashing light on the air conditioning \(A/C\) button with a lack of heat and/or A/C with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) B1717:06 stored in the heat pump valve control module \(HPVCM\). This may be due to the software in the HPVCM. To correct the condition, reprogram the HPVCM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). If the DTC remains this may be due to the "Heat Pump Vacuum Lock Release Sequence" application performance in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). The "Heat Pump Vacuum Lock Release Sequence" application has been updated in FDRS to operate properly. For claiming, use causal part 14H266 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 55228](/bulletins/11038440.md), 2026-10-12, Service bulletin: ENGINE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2020\-2026 Aviator/Explorer/F\-150/Bronco/Ranger vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L \(non\-diesel\) engine may need the front engine cover removed and reinstalled for various reasons. The Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-01 Engine \> Removal and Installation \> Engine Front Cover service procedure has been updated to include a new essential special service tool \(ESST\) guide pin alignment tool \(303\-1790\) that is used to align the engine front cover to the engine block, preventing the O\-ring seal on the engine oil galley feed tube from getting damaged during installation.
- [26B07](/bulletins/11037782.md), 2026-10-02, Other: FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Recommended Repair Prior to Sale Customer Satisfaction Program 26B07 Certain 2021\-2025 Model Year F\-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach\-E Vehicles Undesired Acceleration Due to Adaptive Cruise Control \(ACC\) Activation
- [SSM 55208](/bulletins/11037569.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2024\-2026 F\-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025\-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module \(BCM\) when performing a Self\-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self\-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note: This guidance only applies to U211B with the specific failure byte 43 in status 48. Any other trusted real\-time operation network \(TRON\) DTCs or different failure bytes associated with U211B are still applicable and technicians must follow Workshop Manual \(WSM\) normal diagnostics for those DTCs.
- [SSM 55194](/bulletins/11037561.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021\-2024 Mustang Mach\-E, 2025\-2026 Navigator and 2024 F\-150 vehicles may exhibit inoperative welcome/approach detection lights. This may be due to the body control module \(BCM\) software. To correct the condition, download and run the "BCM \- Programmable Module Installation \(PMI\)" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. If the condition persists after PMI, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 417\-01 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and labor operations 12651D and BCM.
