## NHTSA's summary

Ford has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2020 Model Year F\-250 \- F\-550, 2021 Model Year F\-250 \- F\-600, and 2022 Model Year F\-250 \- F\-750 vehicles equipped with Altec equipment. Vehicle previously received a software update for safety recall 24S78, but may not have received the correct software to remedy the original concern in safety recall 24S78. The high\-pressure fuel pump might fail, resulting in extended cranking without starting while the vehicle is parked or loss of motive power while driving. Before losing motive power, customers may experience a Check Engine Light \(CEL\), noise, and engine derate.
