Service bulletin SSM 54763

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2025-2026 F-Super Duty vehicles built without lane departure warning (built with minor feature code HLEAA) and 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 26-Mar-2026 may exhibit a clicking or creaking type noise when turning the steering wheel during low-speed maneuvers. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). If a vehicle exhibits this condition, use a chassis ears tool and place the microphone clamp on or near the universal joint yoke of the steering column upper shaft (below the column). Turn the steering wheel with the vehicle stationary to replicate the concern. If the same noise is clearly heard through the chassis ears at this location, replace the steering column upper shaft (base part number 3E751). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-04. For claiming, use causal part 3E751 and service labor operations 3676AUP and 1006D.

Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component
DSM-26.5.7.2 Exped&Nav2026-10-02. Over-the-air update. Quality improvements include: -Steering column memory calibration update to minimize unnecessary contact with mechanical hard stops
TSB 26-24232026-09-29. Service bulletin. This bulletin supersedes 26-2280. Reason for update: To add 2027 vehicle models, update the Parts list to change the tape, and revise Step 4 to change the tape and wrap an additional wiring harness. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model Statement above may exhibit a concern where the horn intermittently sounds when turning the steering wheel. This may be due to incorrect routing of a wire harness in the steering wheel, a loose strand of wire protruding from a wire harness and grounding the driver airbag, and/or a concern with one of the driver airbag mounting points.
TSB 26-22802026-06-15. Service bulletin. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model Statement above may exhibit a concern where the horn intermittently sounds when turning the steering wheel. This may be due to incorrect routing of a wire harness in the steering wheel or a concern with one of the driver airbag mounting points.
SSM 545942026-02-27. Service bulletin. Some 2023-2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit rain sensitive wipers (if equipped) settings that do not change when selected in the center touch screen. Vehicles may also exhibit an inoperative heated steering wheel (if equipped) after a remote start event. This may be due to the software in the steering column control module (SCCM). To correct the condition, reprogram the SCCM using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 3F791 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4.
SSM 545872026-02-20. For claiming, use causal part 3F791 and labor operation 12651D.
SSM 544462026-01-06. Service bulletin. Some 2025-2026 Expedition vehicles may exhibit a left turn signal that activates after the right turn signal is activated and the steering wheel is turned to the right, then immediately back to the left (past the center position). The left turn signal will deactivate once the steering wheel returns to center. This may be due to the multifunction switch. Replacing components will not resolve this issue. Inform the customer that Ford is aware of the concern and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected to be announced by March 2026. This concern does not affect vehicle durability and the customer can continue to drive the vehicle. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule a service appointment for the customer once the repair becomes available.
SSM 543332025-11-04. Service bulletin. Some 2023-2025 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a no crank/no start or intermittent no crank/no start with multiple warning indicators and DTC U0100 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS), audio front control module (ACM) and power steering control module (PSCM). This may be due to an incorrectly tightened ground 113 (G113). Inspect G113 for proper connection and tighten to 12 Nm (8.9 ft-lb). If the condition remains after tightening G113, perform normal diagnostics outside of this article. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-06 Starting System. For claiming, use causal part 12A581 and labor operations 12650D and 12650D45WR of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 543112025-10-28. Service bulletin. 2023-2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may be equipped from the factory with a power steering system filled with Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-10-QLVC or XL-22 high temperature power steering fluid that looks like clear hydraulic fluid. Both fluids are interchangeable in the power steering system when service is required. Workshop Manual, Section 211-02 > Power Steering > Specifications has been updated to provide the correct power steering fluid usage.
SSM 541802025-09-02. Service bulletin. Some 2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may require retrieval of the factory keycode for factory installed wired keyless entry keypads. If Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool retrieval is not available, the code can be retrieved using 2 programmed keys. Perform the following steps within 10 seconds. Place the first programmed key into the ignition lock cylinder or backup starting location and turn the ignition on. Turn the ignition off and remove the first programmed key. Place the second programmed key into the ignition lock cylinder or backup location and turn the ignition on. The factory keycode displays momentarily in the instrument panel cluster message center. Do not submit a warranty claim for this procedure. This procedure is in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14 > Description and Operation.
SSM 540522025-07-24. Service bulletin. Some 2023-2025 F-Super Duty vehicles may display an error during replacement of the SCCM that contains the following message: "Reprogramming has failed, would you like to retry?". If this error is present, the SCCM will not complete PMI and may store diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U2100 and/or U2101 in the SCCM. This may be due to a concern with the compatibility of the software with a hardware change in the SCCM. To correct the condition, download and run the "SCCM - Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) Configuration" application in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Inform customers that although the PMI is incomplete, there is no affect on vehicle performance. Customers can continue to drive the vehicle. To make sure the vehicle correctly receives the latest SCCM software, engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in late Q3 2025. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the software becomes available.
