# Service bulletin SSM 54733

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 11031298
- Published by NHTSA: 2026\-04\-14
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 54733

- NHTSA component: SERVICE BRAKES

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2025\-2026 Bronco/Expedition/Navigator/F\-150/Ranger vehicles may exhibit a "Check Brake System" message in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) and/or an illuminated anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) indicator with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) C0563 stored in the ABS module. This may be due to air still trapped in the system after prior bleeding attempts and/or brake service mode being enabled. The applicable pinpoint test \(PPT\) in Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 206\-09 has been updated to improve diagnostics for this concern. Make sure the latest software version of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) is being used when performing the brake system pressure bleeding routine.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 54993](/bulletins/11034976.md), 2026-07-13, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2025\-2026 F\-150 Raptor vehicles may exhibit increased sensitivity or braking force when applying the brake pedal at slower speeds. To resolve this concern, reprogram the anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). For claiming, use causal part 2005 and labor operations 2219D and ABS.
- [SSM 54940](/bulletins/11034019.md), 2026-06-22, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2021\-2026 F\-150 vehicles may exhibit a U2100:00 diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) for initial configuration incomplete stored in the trailer control module \(TRM\). This may be due to the vehicle having a Ford accessory trailer brake kit installed without being programmed following the included instructions. If the vehicle was built with minor feature code FDDAA and a trailer brake gain switch is present in the stock location in the instrument panel, a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit has been installed on the vehicle. If a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit is present, download and run the "TRM \- Towbar Configuration" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double\-clicking the vehicle identification number \(VIN\) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System \(PTS\).
- [SSM 54856](/bulletins/11032920.md), 2026-05-26, Service bulletin: FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2025\-2026 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a condition where cruise control is inoperative and/or an "Adaptive Cruise Control Not Available" message is displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U0422:00 stored in the anti\-lock brake \(ABS\) module. If a vehicle exhibits this condition, this may be due to an incorrect configuration programmed to the ABS module during an attempt to change tire size. \<br /\>\<br /\> The Ford Performance ProCal 4 tool is the only approved tool that can be used for properly adjusting the tire size calibration. Vehicles originally equipped with 30\-inch tires that are being upfit with 35\-inch tires should be set to 615 revolutions per mile in the Ford Performance ProCal 4 tool under Diagnostics and Tools \> Tire/Gear Adjust. Any other concerns related to tire size calibration that exhibit this condition, contact the Ford Performance Techline as outlined in the Ford Performance ProCal 4 tool instructions. \<br /\>\<br /\> This limitation in tire size calibration is due to the software in the ABS module.
- [SSM 54848](/bulletins/11032918.md), 2026-05-26, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2025 Bronco Raptor vehicles may exhibit a concern where certain selectable drive modes \(G.O.A.T. modes\) are unavailable after the ABS module receives a software update. Customers may also report that the "Offroad" mode is not visible and/or after switching to the "Baja" or "Rock Crawl" drive modes, the vehicle returns back to "Normal" mode. To correct this condition, download and run the "ABS \- Anti\-Lock Brake System \(ABS\) Module Software Update" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. For claiming use causal part 2005 and labor operations 2219D and 2219D44.
- [SSM 54847](/bulletins/11032917.md), 2026-05-26, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2025 Bronco non\-Raptor vehicles may exhibit a concern where certain selectable drive modes \(G.O.A.T. modes\) are unavailable after the ABS module received a software update. Customers may report that the vehicle is missing the "Mud/Ruts" and/or "Sand" drive mode\(s\).
