# Service bulletin SSM 54582

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2024 Nautilus and 2025 Explorer vehicles equipped with the Google Maps Navigation System \(minor feature code HKCGA\) may experience a blank/white Google map screen, inoperative live traffic data, inoperative voice assistant, the inability to sign into a Google account in the center touch screen, unable to access the Google Play Store in the center display screen, and/or inability to connect to other apps in the center display screen. This may be due to the vehicles Connectivity Package not being activated. To verify if the vehicle has an active Connectivity Package \(free or paid\) enter the vehicle identification number \(VIN\) in Professional Technician System \(PTS\) then navigate to the upper blue tab titled Connected Vehicle \> Vehicle Software Subscriptions. It will clearly state if the vehicle has a trial or paid subscription, along with the expiration date. These vehicles come with a free Connectivity Package that lasts for 1 year. To activate the free trial period or to subscribe to a paid subscription, have the customer follow the steps located within The Ford/Lincon App and follow the prompts

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 55220](/bulletins/11038437.md), 2026-10-12, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2024\-2026 Nautilus and 2025\-2026 Explorer/Aviator/Expedition/Navigator vehicles may experience Android Auto connection or general Bluetooth pairing concerns for both Android and IOS after an APIM software update. This may be due to the APIM software. To temporarily correct the issue:\<br /\>\<br /\> \* For Android Auto related issues: Clear Android Auto app storage in the center display screen. Vehicle Settings \> Settings \> Apps \> Android Auto \> Clear Storage. \<br /\> \* For general Bluetooth connectivity issues: Clear Contacts Storage app storage in the center display screen. Vehicle Settings \> Apps \> Uncheck hide system apps \> Contacts Storage \> Clear Storage.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the condition persists, perform a master reset from the center display screen, remove the vehicle from the phone, then re\-pair the device.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the condition continues to persist, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 415\-00 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article.\<br /\>\<br /\> If the condition is resolved, inform customers that engineering is currently working on a permanent solution
- [SSM 55208](/bulletins/11037569.md), 2026-09-30, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2024\-2026 F\-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025\-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module \(BCM\) when performing a Self\-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self\-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note: This guidance only applies to U211B with the specific failure byte 43 in status 48. Any other trusted real\-time operation network \(TRON\) DTCs or different failure bytes associated with U211B are still applicable and technicians must follow Workshop Manual \(WSM\) normal diagnostics for those DTCs.
- [SSM 55172](/bulletins/11037421.md), 2026-09-21, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2025 Aviator/Explorer/Police Interceptor Utility vehicles may exhibit a "Steering Assist Fault Service Required" message and diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) C1110:56 and/or U3000:96 stored in the power steering control module \(PSCM\) after programming. This may be due to a calibration mismatch in the PSCM which has been resolved in the Ford database. If DTC C1110:56 is stored in a replacement PSCM after completing programmable module installation \(PMI\), start a new session using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool then run the "PSCM \- Programmable Module Installation \(PMI\)" application again. When FDRS asks if the original module is installed, select "No". If DTC C1110:56 is stored in the original PSCM after performing the PSCM configuration, start a new session using the latest software version of the FDRS scan tool, then download and run the "PSCM \- Power Steering Control Module \(PSCM\) Software Update" application. To clear DTC U3000:96 from the PSCM, download and run the "PSCM \- Reset the Power Steering Control

- [SSM 55140](/bulletins/11036647.md), 2026-09-02, Service bulletin: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2025\-2026 Maverick vehicles built on or before 05\-Dec\-2025 and 2024\-2026 Nautilus vehicles built on or before 04\-Sep\-2025 may exhibit limited power and display "Stop Safely Now" or "Service Vehicle Soon" stored in the message center after start up with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) P0A5D, P0A60, P0A63, P0A6F, P0A72, P0A75, and/or P0E52 stored in the inverter system controller \(SOBDMC\). The Ford Diagnostic and Repair System \(FDRS\) may refer to this module as the "Secondary On\-Board Control Module C". If the vehicle exhibits these conditions, replace the inverter system controller. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 307\-01B. For claiming, use causal part 7B012 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D56. NOTE: This article does not remove any RVC, Prior Approval or Warranty and Policy requirements for component replacement.
- [SSM 55131](/bulletins/11036601.md), 2026-09-02, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2025\-2026 Aviator/Explorer/Expedition/F\-150/Mustang Mach\-E/Nautilus/Navigator vehicles may exhibit the hands\-free BlueCruise feature intermittently/consistently unavailable when BlueCruise is active and when traveling in a "Blue Zone". Speed sign recognition may also be inaccurate. If there are no active relevant diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) present and the issue persists after multiple key cycles and if the BlueCruise System Health Check passes, download and run the "TCU \- Reset Telematics Control Unit \(TCU\) Module" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). If the condition is resolved, inform customers that this may be a temporary fix and engineering is currently working on a solution expected in Q4 2026. Monitor Professional Technician System \(PTS\) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. For claiming, use causal 14G229 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4. If the condition persists after a test drive, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 419\-03B for normal

If the vehicle exhibits these symptoms, start the vehicle using both key fobs. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" concern is present, reprogram both key fobs and retest. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" is still present, replace the body control module \(BCM\). Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 419\-10. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and labor operation MT55118SSM up to 1.8 hours.
