Service bulletin TSB 26-2018

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a grunt-type noise from the front brakes during initial brake applications that goes away after the brakes warm-up. A video demonstrating this condition is available in the Service Procedure below. This may be due to the front brake discs and pads.

SSM 542642025-10-08. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2025 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit a grunt-type noise from the front brakes during initial brake applications that goes away after the brakes warm-up. A video demonstrating this condition is available on PTS for 2024-2025 Nautilus under the Service Tips Tab > Reference Guides > Front Brake Grunt Video. For vehicles that exhibit a noise comparable to the video only, refer to the following direction depending on vehicle build date.

* Vehicles built on or before 13-Jun-2024, that have previously had front disc brake rotors replaced with part number PZ1Z-1125-B: Engineering is investigating further brake noise improvements with a solution targeted for late Q4 2025. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service should be expected to impact this condition at this time.

* Vehicles built on or before 13-Jun-2024, that have not had front brake service: replace both front brake disc rotors with part number PZ1Z-1125-B. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-03 Front Disc Brake > Removal and Installation.
SSM 542502025-10-02. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2025 Escape Hybrid/Maverick Hybrid/Nautilus Hybrid/F-150 non-Lightning/F-Super Duty/Bronco and 2025 Expedition/Navigator/Ranger vehicles where customers have installed an aftermarket supplemental braking system may experience a discharged 12-volt battery after recreational towing. This may be due to the supplemental braking system keeping the vehicle awake during brake applications. Advise customers that while recreational towing the vehicle with a supplemental braking system installed, it is recommended to use a 12-volt battery charger connected to a power source external to the vehicle being towed. The Owners Manual is in process of being updated with this information.

SSM 527852024-08-16. Service bulletin. Some 2024 Nautilus vehicles built on or before 13-Jun-2024 may exhibit a grunt noise from the front brakes during initial brake applications that goes away after the brakes warm up. This may be due to front brake disc stiffness. To correct this condition, replace both front brake discs with PZ1Z-1125-B.
SSM 525562024-05-30. Service bulletin. Some 2024 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit a grunt noise from the front brakes during initial brake applications that goes away after the brakes warm up. Lincoln is aware of the concern and a solution for this concern is expected by 3rd quarter 2024. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
SSM 521182023-12-11. Service bulletin. Some 2024 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:87 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to a module communication error within a specified timeframe. U211B:87 has no effect on functionality and will automatically become a historical DTC which can be cleared. Replacement or reprogramming of the ABS module will not resolve this condition. Engineering is currently working on a software update which is expected in Q1 2024. Continue to monitor OASIS for additional information.
