# Service bulletin SSM 54350

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2022\-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with driver assistance features and minor feature codes DBCBB and DBCBC may exhibit driver assistance feature warning messages displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). Additionally, some modules may store invalid data/lost communication related diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\). The image processing module A \(IPMA\) should not store these DTCs. This condition may be due to the software in the IPMA, causing it to not communicate on the network. Whether the issue is intermittent or the IPMA is currently failing to communicate, download and run the "IPMA \- Image Processing Module A \(IPMA\) Recovery" app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. If IPMA communication had to be restored using the Recovery App, download and run the "IPMA \- Image Processing Module \(IPMA\) Alignment" app, recheck DTCs and confirm that all warning messages are cleared from the IPC.\<br /\>\<br /\> If these steps correct the condition, release the vehicle back to the customer. Advise the customers that a permanent repair to prevent recurrence is expected to be

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [TSB 26\-2366](/bulletins/11036266.md), 2026-08-19, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a condition where certain devices built on the Android OS platform \(including Voxx rear seat entertainment system\) indicate they are connected to the vehicles Wi\-Fi hotspot, but internet performance is degraded. Symptoms may include no internet access, intermittent connectivity, and/or limited/very low streaming capability. Some websites/apps may partially load while others do not load at all, despite showing Connected. This may be due to the telematics control unit \(TCU\) software.

- [SSM 55031](/bulletins/11035269.md), 2026-07-28, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021\-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module \(BCM\) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F\-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) application titled "BCM\-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request \(TSR\) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration
- [SSM 55028](/bulletins/11035267.md), 2026-07-28, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an "Updating SYNC" message on the vehicle center display screen after an over the air \(OTA\) update. The message can be cleared from the center display screen and SYNC can be used normally, but it will re\-appear at every subsequent ignition cycle. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a software update solution for this condition to be delivered OTA expected in late Q3 2026. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicles settings. Monitor Professional Technician System \(PTS\) for additional information.

- [SSM 55037](/bulletins/11035233.md), 2026-07-27, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEATS. Some 2018\-2024 Expedition and 2018\-2027 Navigator vehicles equipped with a rear seat entertainment system/Lincoln Play may experience various system concerns. Rear seat entertainment systems are not on a controller area network \(CAN\) and are not supported by the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System \(FDRS\). Certain system concerns may be resolved through software updates which will automatically download once each individual monitor is connected to Wi\-Fi. Diagnostic support for rear seat entertainment systems is provided by VOXX electronics. If necessary, contact the VOXX Customer Service Department at 1\-866\-869\-7888. If possible, record the device serial number by selecting the gear/Setup icon \> Settings \> Device and Software \> About. If the unit will not power up, the serial number is on a label on the back of the monitor. It is helpful to know the date the issue occurred, how long the monitors were on prior to the issue, what app/input/media was being used, and if the system software was recently updated prior to the concern starting. For claiming, refer to the Warranty and Policy manual for
