## NHTSA's summary

Mercedes\-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes\-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain subject vehicles, the software for the powertrain control unit \(PTCU\) does not correspond to the current series production configuration. The possibility exists that a control unit timeout may occur followed by malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) activation. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes\-Benz dealer will update the PTCU software in the affected vehicles.
