# Service bulletin TSB 25\-2420

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 11023139
- Published by NHTSA: 2025\-09\-16
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 25\-2420
- Manufacturer's date: 2025\-09\-10

## NHTSA's summary

Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above built with minor feature code AAZNQ or AAZNS \(gross vehicle weight rating ÝGVWR¨ 9,900 lb. or 10,000 lb. pounds\) may exhibit an incorrectly illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P20EE stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to the calibration in the PCM. This condition does not affect vehicle drivability or durability. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double\-clicking the vehicle identification number \(VIN\) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System \(PTS\).

- [TSB 26\-2375 v2](/bulletins/11038441.md), 2026-10-13, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. NOTE: This bulletin has been updated, refer to the change log at the bottom for details. Issue: Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit all of the following conditions: • Poor shift quality • Illuminated powertrain malfunction \(wrench\) indicator with DTCs P2704 and P0771 stored in the PCM / TCM . This may be due to a calibration in the TCM and/or wear between the input shaft and the E clutch hub causing theinput shaft O\-rings to become damaged resulting in an open E clutch circuit. Action: For vehicles that meet all of the criteria in the Issue and Model statements, follow the Service Procedure toreprogram the PCM / TCM and/or replace the E clutch hub and input shaft O\-rings
- [SSM 55218](/bulletins/11038166.md), 2026-10-06, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. For 20202026 vehicles equipped with the 10R140 transmission, a new Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test has been introduced in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\). This test utilizes the pressure and vacuum transducer \(PVT\) when available. Workshop Manual \(WSM\) updates related to this diagnostic procedure are planned for release in Q4 2026. The new test improves the accuracy of detecting leaks within transmission fluid circuits and replaces the previous air check method. The previous air check procedure has been shown to produce a high rate of false positives, which may lead to unnecessary repairs when no actual leak is present. Accordingly, the air check procedure is not to be used for diagnosing internal transmission hydraulic leaks or as justification for transmission replacement.
- [TSB 26\-2252](/bulletins/11037296.md), 2026-09-12, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; POWER TRAIN. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions: Poor shift quality Illuminated powertrain malfunction \(wrench\) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) P2704 and P0771 stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\)/transmission control module \(TCM\) This may be due to the software in the TCM \(diesel only\) and/or sticking valves in the main control valve body and/or damaged E clutch friction plates and E clutch steel plates. - [SSM 54975](/bulletins/11034605.md), 2026-07-07, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Some 2023\-2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R100 or 10R140 transmission may exhibit an intermittent failure to engage forward or reverse gears and/or a loud whining noise. Additionally, the driver will be able to shift back to park. This may be due to PCM software being unable to command the transmission solenoid clutch actuators when the battery has a low state of charge \(SoC\) and/or the vehicle has been jump started. To restore proper transmission functionality, charge the battery as stated in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 414\-01 Charging System \> General Information. Cycle the ignition on then off and leave the vehicle off for 5 minutes to confirm the condition is no longer present. To prevent this issue from reoccurring, refer to the Owner's Manual \> Storing Your Vehicle \> Preparing Your Vehicle for Storage \> 12V Battery. Replacement of transmission components will not resolve this condition. Inform the customer that the condition has no impact on transmission durability. For claiming, use causal part 12A650 and labor operations 12650D, 12650D45, and 12650D81.

- [TSB 26\-2263](/bulletins/11033575.md), 2026-06-05, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. This bulletin supersedes 26\-2112. Reason For Update: add 2026 model year vehicles, update LV fluid XT\-10\-QLVC and CXT\-10\-LV6 description to add "Transfer Case Fluid 4WD Only", and update Step 4 to inspect/replace 7H351 and 7B177 outside of this article. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions: \- No upshift past second gear \- Unable to achieve third gear ratio \- Illuminated MIL with DTCs P0757 and P2701 This may be due to a damaged one\-way clutch \(OWC\).
- [TSB 26\-2251](/bulletins/11033574.md), 2026-06-05, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. This article supersedes TSB 25\-2545. Reason for update: To correct the current Pinpoint Test description. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may require the replacement of the ambient air temperature sensor for various concerns. DTCs P0071, P0072, and/or P0073 may be present in the powertrain control module \(PCM\).
- [SSM 54738](/bulletins/11031302.md), 2026-04-14, Service bulletin: ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. Some 2023\-2025 Escape 1.5L/F\-Super Duty/Transit vehicles may exhibit a lack of cooling from the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning \(HVAC\) system, which may be accompanied by abnormal rattling, grinding and/or squealing noises from the engine compartment. This may be due to damage to the air conditioning \(A/C\) compressor internal components and/or clutch assembly. Confirm ambient air temperature is above approximately 0°C \(32.0°F\). On the HVAC controls, set the temperature to full cold \(not MAX A/C\), select PANEL, set the fan speed to the highest setting and select the A/C button \(indicator on\). If the A/C compressor clutch engages and the A/C compressor is noisy, and/or the belt is slipping on the A/C compressor pulley or the A/C compressor is seized, install a new A/C compressor as indicated in Section 412\-00 of the Workshop Manual \(WSM\). For claiming, use causal part 19703 and labor operation MT19700SSM up to 0.3 hours to check for a damaged compressor. If the compressor requires replacement, claim labor operations 19700A and 19700A4. Also claim available Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) op
