# Service bulletin SB908\-2

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

To maintain Tier 4 engine emission levels, engine load may be reduced under some conditions; this function is called load management. Load management allows the TriPac 3 to cycle the A/C compressor and charging systems ON/OFF to manage engine load only during certain conditions. The TriPac 3 and TriPac Evolution units use different load management structures. The improvements to the TriPac 3 system allow for increased alternator life, easier charging system diagnostics, and fewer system components \(load shed resistors eliminated on TriPac 3\).
