Service bulletin SB908-2

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

To maintain Tier 4 engine emission levels, engine load may be reduced under some conditions; this function is called load management. Load management allows the TriPac 3 to cycle the A/C compressor and charging systems ON/OFF to manage engine load only during certain conditions. The TriPac 3 and TriPac Evolution units use different load management structures. The improvements to the TriPac 3 system allow for increased alternator life, easier charging system diagnostics, and fewer system components (load shed resistors eliminated on TriPac 3).

The document is the manufacturer's. This site does not hold it. NHTSA files a document at one of these two addresses; we have not asked NHTSA which.
