Service bulletin SSM 53842

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 548292026-05-19. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2026 Nautilus and 2025-2026 Explorer/Aviator vehicles equipped with power autofold exterior mirrors may exhibit concerns with the passenger mirror not automatically folding in or out at times, while the driver side mirror automatically folds properly. This may be due to the software in the driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM). To correct the condition, reprogram the DDM and PDM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 14B291 and labor operation MT14B291SSM up to 0.4 hours.
SSM 548262026-05-19. Service bulletin. Some 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with one-touch up/down front windows may exhibit a condition where a front window does not respond to one-touch controls, does not open all the way and/or bounces back when using the one-touch close function. Inform customers that engineering is aware of this condition and is investigating a service solution which is expected to be available by the end of Q2 2026. Replacement or reprogramming of the DDM and/or PDM and/or any other components is unlikely to resolve this condition. One-touch open and close function may be restored by resetting the anti-pinch feature described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Window Bounce-Back > Overriding Window Bounce-Back. The symptom may return after a successful reset of the anti-pinch feature. Show the customer where they can find this reset procedure in the Digital Owners Manual (Windows > Window Bounce-Back > Overriding Window Bounce-Back) so that they can have the option to perform the reset procedure on their own should the symptom return while waiting for the service solution to become available.
