# Service bulletin S2514000002

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 11018605
- Published by NHTSA: 2025\-05\-28
- Manufacturer's number: S2514000002
- Manufacturer's date: 2025\-05\-23
- NHTSA component: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Manufacturer's system: Fuel System, Fuel Filter

## NHTSA's summary

Longer Than Expected, Extended Crank Time After Fuel Level Run Too Low Or After Fuel Filter/System Servicing. Some customers may experience an extended crank condition. This concern may have been noticed after the vehicle has been run low/out of fuel, or after a recent fuel system repair such as filter replacement. This may also be noticed newer vehicles arriving from the assembly plant. Upon further investigation, the technician may also find Diagnostic Trouble Code \(DTC\) P2540 – Low Pressure Fuel System Sensor Circuit Performance set in the Powertrain Control Module \(PCM\). The concern may be due to excess air being trapped in the fuel filter housing.

Repair any issues found. Reconnect the plug and perform a push pull push to ensure the connector is fully installed. Then perform 3 keys cycles and listen to hear if the fuel pump is operational. If the fuel pump is heard that indicates that everything is operating correctly. If the pump is heard replacement is not necessary, any replacement will function in the same way.
