# Service bulletin SSM 53760

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 11018295
- Published by NHTSA: 2025\-05\-14
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 53760
- Manufacturer's date: 2025\-05\-12
- NHTSA component: LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2023\-2024 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature code DBCAB for Escape and minor feature code DBCBC for Corsair and 2022\-2024 Expedition vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature codes DBCBB and DBCBC may exhibit driver assistance feature warning messages displayed in the IPC. Additionally, some modules may store invalid data/lost communication related DTCs. The image processing module A \(IPMA\) should not store these DTCs. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double\-clicking the vehicle identification number \(VIN\) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System \(PTS\). This condition may be due to the software in the IPMA, causing it to not communicate on the network. To restore communication and functionality, download and run the "IPMA \- Image Processing Module A \(IPMA\) Recovery" app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. Once IPMA communication has been restored, download and run the "IPMA \- Image Processing Module \(IPMA\) Alignment"

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 54720](/bulletins/11031263.md), 2026-04-10, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Various 2020\-2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system \(BLIS\) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module \(DDM\), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module \(PDM\). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Use part number SC3Z\-14A411\-B to resolve the concern.
- [SSM 54447](/bulletins/11027143.md), 2026-01-06, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2022\-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with minor feature codes DBCBB or DBCBC may exhibit various driver assistance feature warning messages displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). Additionally, some modules may store diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) related to invalid data or lost communication. This condition may be due to the software in the image processing module A \(IPMA\), disrupting network communication. If the IPMA is currently failing to communicate, download and run the "IPMA \- Image Processing Module A \(IPMA\) Recovery" app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. Select and run the IPMA Recovery Flash Erase option from the apps menu. If the driver assistance warnings and/or symptoms are intermittent, and possibly not failing during the dealership visit, download and run the "IPMA \- Image Processing Module A \(IPMA\) Recovery" app in the FDRS scan tool. Select and run the GWM Ethernet Update option from the apps menu. If IPMA communication had to be restored using the Recovery App, download and run the "IPMA \- Image Processing Module \(IPMA\) Alignm
- [TSB 25\-2479](/bulletins/11025527.md), 2025-11-13, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. This article supersedes TSB 25\-2249 to update the Service Procedure. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a "Pre\-Collision Assist Not Available" message in the IPC and at least one of the following conditions: Various driver assistance feature warning messages in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\): \- "Blind Spot System Fault" \- "Cross\-Traffic System Fault" \- "Front Camera Fault \- Service Required" Various data or lost communication diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) stored in various modules Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool cannot establish connectivity with the image processing module A \(IPMA\) during a self\-test. This may be due to the software installed in the IPMA. \*\*\* MODEL SECTION \*\*\*\* 2023\-2026 Escape equipped with minor feature code: DBCAB or DBCAA 2023\-2026 Corsair equipped with minor feature code: DBCBC
