## NHTSA's summary

Potential for slack adjuster failure on trailer air brakes. Failure observed when the self\-adjusting actuator rod pulls out the boot. Failure has not prevented brakes from actuating but may cause the brakes to not release fully. Units re\-worked to replace push rod on brake chambers with a shorter rod meeting axle manufacturer's specifications.
