# Service campaign MC610225

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

On vehicles with optional equipment X22AA “automated shift assistant”, the selector drum may rotate the opposite direction briefly when downshifting in manual mode \(‘M’ mode\), particularly across transmission position ‘N’ \(e.g. when shifting from 2nd gear to 1st gear\). In some cases, this opposite rotation is detected as a fault due to overly sensitive component monitoring. The rider receives a corresponding warning message in the instrument cluster; the engaged gear remains engaged. The vehicle goes into a safe driving mode as designed \(continue driving at idle speed only\). Following turning the motorcycle of and back on again, the fault is reset, and the automated shift assistant function is available again.
