# Service bulletin SA\-020\-24b

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- [15\-001\-26](/bulletins/11033118.md), 2026-06-02, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. DESCRIPTION Some customers may experience that the BSM \(Blind Spot Monitoring\) warning light remains on while driving, even though no vehicle is present behind. This may be caused by electrical noise in the BSM control module power supply and vibration noise from the rear bumper that falsely detects a vehicle behind. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the BSM has been modified to prevent the influence of noise. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Verify the customer concern. NOTE: This issue may have two causes: the BSM software not at the latest version and the BSM insufficiently fastened. The issue may occur due to either one or both. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly follow the procedure outlined below. 2. Reprogram ECU with the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System \(M\-MDS\), using Mazda Diagnostic and Repair Software \(MDARS\). Refer to MDARS ECU Reprogramming Procedure. 3. Remove the rear bumper according to the instructions in MGSS \(REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION\).
- [SA\-027\-25](/bulletins/11019162.md), 2025-06-05, Service bulletin: EXTERIOR LIGHTING; LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE; LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING. The CX\-70 and CX\-90 have new and revised features that are different from previous models and may be difficult to understand. This Service Alert provides valuable information to support potential dealer and customer concerns.
- [SSPD6 FC](/bulletins/11005711.md), 2024-08-06, Service campaign: SERVICE BRAKES; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; VISIBILITY/WIPER; BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. SSPD6 \- SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM \- VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE \(VCM\) PROGRAMMING \- 2024 CX\-90 SSPD6 \- 2024 CX\-90 \- Vehicle Control Module \(VCM\) Reprogramming: This campaign will resolve three different concerns. Unintentional warning or braking when backing up. When backing up the vehicle in a parking lot or similar area, the View Monitor Camera \(VMC\) may detect certain physical obstacles lower to the ground such as, the tires of an adjacent vehicle, parking lines, plants, etc. even though there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. Under this condition, the Smart Brake Support \(SBS\) system may determine that there is a possibility of a collision, notifying with a visual \(screen display\) and audible \(warning sound\), and the brakes possibly being applied in certain cases. Driver recognition result is not displayed \(on equipped vehicles\) The Driver Personalization system may not recognize the driver’s face to change the seat position settings that have been programmed. In this case the vehicle interprets the driver as a “guest” \(non\-personalized\). The vehicle driver must be in the driver’s seat within 15 seconds of unlocking the vehicle to initiate the Driver Recognition function. Mazda Radar Cruise Control \(MRCC\) may reduce speed to match adjacent lane vehicle While driving on a curved road condition with the Mazda Radar Cruise Control \(MRCC\) activated, a vehicle in the right or left lane may be detected as a vehicle in front of the CX\-90 and the MRCC will unexpectedly reduce vehicle speed to match the detected vehicle. The repair will be reprogramming the VCM with modified software via M\-MDS, using MDARS. There are 28,404 vehicles in the campaign in the U.S. and U.S. Territories.
