# Service bulletin 24B27 S3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 11008373
- Published by NHTSA: 2024\-10\-03
- Manufacturer's number: 24B27 S3
- Manufacturer's date: 2024\-09\-11
- NHTSA component: ENGINE

## NHTSA's summary

In affected vehicles, the Variable Displacement Oil Pump \(VDOP\) delivers oil to the engine at low pressure/capacity during idle conditions. Reason for supplement: software now available/additonal technician information

- [TSB 26\-2375](/bulletins/11036283.md), 2026-08-19, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This article supersedes TSB 26\-2050 to increase the labor operation allowance of labor operations A and B. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit all of the following conditions: Poor shift quality Illuminated powertrain malfunction \(wrench\) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) P2704 and P0771 stored in the PCM/TCM. This may be due to a calibration in the TCM and/or wear between the input shaft and the E clutch hub causing the input shaft O\-rings to become damaged resulting in an open E clutch circuit. - [SSM 54738](/bulletins/11031302.md), 2026-04-14, Service bulletin: ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. Some 2023\-2025 Escape 1.5L/F\-Super Duty/Transit vehicles may exhibit a lack of cooling from the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning \(HVAC\) system, which may be accompanied by abnormal rattling, grinding and/or squealing noises from the engine compartment. This may be due to damage to the air conditioning \(A/C\) compressor internal components and/or clutch assembly. Confirm ambient air temperature is above approximately 0°C \(32.0°F\). On the HVAC controls, set the temperature to full cold \(not MAX A/C\), select PANEL, set the fan speed to the highest setting and select the A/C button \(indicator on\). If the A/C compressor clutch engages and the A/C compressor is noisy, and/or the belt is slipping on the A/C compressor pulley or the A/C compressor is seized, install a new A/C compressor as indicated in Section 412\-00 of the Workshop Manual \(WSM\). For claiming, use causal part 19703 and labor operation MT19700SSM up to 0.3 hours to check for a damaged compressor. If the compressor requires replacement, claim labor operations 19700A and 19700A4. Also claim available Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) op

Some 2023\-2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles that require replacement of the heating ventilation and air conditioning \(HVAC\) module may have previously experienced a PMI that will not complete during installation. This may be due to a concern with the PMI application within the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. To correct this condition, navigate to the FDRS application HVAC Programmable Module Installation \(PMI\). Click on the download button \(if not already downloaded\) or the refresh button on the right side of the application \(if the application is already downloaded\). Hover your mouse over the application name and verify the application version reads G2327867\-5.0 or higher. Once the application is confirmed to be updated, run the HVAC PMI application.
- [TSB 25\-2572](/bulletins/11025854.md), 2025-12-01, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. This article supersedes TSB 25\-2322 to update the Service Procedure, Labor Operations and Parts List. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit an upper engine ticking or tapping noise at idle. Customers may also report experiencing rough engine performance, engine misfire, or a malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P0301\-P0308 in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to camshaft and/or valve tappet having excess wear within the engine assembly.
