## NHTSA's summary

This Preliminary information communicates an issue where some customers may comment on a Forward Collision System Unavailable Message, shown below, after the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight with high ambient temperatures \(typically above 100 degs F/38 degs C\). The front view camera's normal operating temperature range is \-30 deg F to 185 deg F \(\-34 deg C to 85 deg C\) and if the cameras internal temperature is outside this temperature range it will shut down to protect itself, which is normal operation. Advise the customer this is normal operation in high ambient temperatures with the vehicle parked in direct sunlight. When the temperature of the camera drops within a normal operating range it will return to normal operation.
