# Service bulletin 23B12

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Certain 2021\-2022 Model Year Mustang Mach E and 2022 Model Year E\-Transit High Voltage Battery Module \(HVBM\) Replacement In all of the affected vehicles, a High Voltage Battery Module \(HVBM\) was previously replaced using an incorrect Thermal Interface Material \(TIM\) template. A HVBM that has been serviced using the incorrect TIM template may cause the cells to operate at a temperature higher than design intent, resulting in reduced cell performance and, over time, a progressive reduction in vehicle range that may become noticeable to the driver. This may also result in a malfunction indicator light, DTC code and battery power limiting.
