Service bulletin SSM 52702

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC)s P0096 and/or P007B stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) which may be more prevalent in high ambient air temperatures. For vehicles that meet this criteria, inspect the front of the vehicle for the presence of an aftermarket bumper and/or accessories which may restrict air flow to the charge air cooler and surrounding sensors. Remove the aftermarket accessory and return the vehicle to stock and reevaluate. If the concern returns with the stock bumper/accessories removed, proceed to normal Workshop Manual diagnostics.
