# Service bulletin LI00.20\-P\-077615

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

The following symptoms may be present in the instrument cluster: 1. "Perform vehicle handover" in the workshop menu to start the maintenance computer for service A/B cannot be carried out. 2. Service confirmation is not possible because "Perform vehicle handover" is displayed. This cannot be carried out. Routine change in software in instrument cluster N133/1. Vehicle handover has not taken place. First manually commission the already installed instrument cluster control unit N133/1 and then perform the special procedure to re\-initialize ASSYST data in powertrain control unit N127. NOTE: The information contained in this document is intended for use by trained, professional technicians with the knowledge to properly and safely perform diagnosis and repairs on Mercedes\-Benz vehicles, using Mercedes\-Benz approved tools and equipment. ## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [LI82.85\-P\-076800](/bulletins/10244837.md), 2023-11-03, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. The "SOS nonfunctional" message appears sporadically in the instrument cluster of the vehicle. The fault code B129C00 is stored in the control unit log. The message occurs in particular after the vehicle has been non\-operational for an extended period of time; the message then disappears of its own accord after a few minutes. No functional limitation to the emergency call system is to be expected. Software error in N112/9 control unit for telematics services \(HERMES\). Software update for control unit N112/9 \- Control unit for telematics services \(HERMES\) to software release E522.8. If, against expectations, the erroneous display of the message in the instrument cluster continues to occur following the update, please create a TIPS case.
- [LI54.30\-P\-070482](/bulletins/10177561.md), 2020-07-27, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The check engine indicator light in the instrument cluster may be illuminated with one of the following fault codes: P261029, P02FF85, or P02FF02 stored in the engine control unit \(N3/10\). The time in instrument cluster is implausible due to an internal reset. If no other complaints exist then check for and perform any available software updates for the following control units: \- Motor electronics \(N3/10\) \- Powertrain control unit \(N127\) \- Instrument cluster \(A1\) If all three control units have the latest software installed and the complaint continues to occur then proceed with replacement of the instrument cluster \(A1\) Should the complaint re\-occur after the instrument cluster has been replaced then open a PTSS case with the following information: \- Control units logs for the ME, PTCU, and IC \- Initial quick test
