## NHTSA's summary

This is to notify you of the Service Campaign Launch to inspect the weld seam on the trunk lid for a crack on 41 Model Year \(“MY”\) 2023 C\-Class \(206 platform\) vehicles. The vehicles will be visible and flagged in VMI as “OPEN” on February 16, 2024. Mercedes\-Benz AG \(“MBAG”\), the manufacturer of Mercedes\-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2023 C\-Class \(206 platform\) vehicles, the weld seam on the trunk lid may not meet current production specifications. It is possible that a crack may be evident on the weld seam. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes\-Benz dealer will inspect the weld seam on the trunk lid and replace the trunk lid, if necessary.
