# Service bulletin B610224

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

A limited amount of Model Year 2023 \(MY23\) vehicles were produced with Smart Opener control units set too sensitively. TheSmart Opener is part of the Comfort Access feature, enabling to open the trunk lid or tailgate using the “foot kicking” motionbeneath the rear bumper. When walking past the rear of the vehicle with a valid ID transmitter, the trunklid may open or closeunintentionally. The control unit for contactless trunklid opening \(smart\-opener control unit\) interpretspassing by as a “foot kick” signal. Normally, the trunklid should only open or close after the “foot kick” motionbeneath the rear bumper.
