# Service bulletin Update19i5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 19 number 12\-29 dated February 7, 2012. Coolant level warning light on. Coolant loss in the engine compartment. Smell of evaporated coolant from engine compartment. The possible cause is a leak on the tee connector hose located in the coolant pipe between alternator, coolant pipe, and oil cooler.
- [Update Bulletin](/bulletins/10123944.md), 2017-11-17, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. It is possible that leakage may occur at the weld seam on coolant expansion tanks manufactured within a specific period on Audi A8 vehicles. The Update is in effect until removed. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 19i9 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair. Vehicles must be within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. - [A801406 2033806\-](/bulletins/10122297.md), 2017-11-08, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 80 number 13\-05 dated September 11, 2013. Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on. Climate system heating performance is insufficient. Coolant level warning is on. Engine temperature is elevated. "Limp Home" mode is active. Faults are stored in the transmission control module \(address word 02\). Coolant loss is found from one or more control valves: N82, N509, or N488. Coolant may have migrated into the wiring harness through the connector and into various control units. Climate system heating performance is insufficient due to coolant loss, or due to a faulty N82 control valve. Inspection of the coolant control valves N82, N509, or N488 reveals the presence of coolant inside the electrical connector as shown in the illustration. The connectors, wiring harness, and/or connected control units may have been damaged from exposure to coolant.
