# Service bulletin SSM 52178

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2021\-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a rattle from the front windows with the windows placed in the partially down position and driving over rough roads and/or bumps. This condition is currently under investigation and repairs and/or component replacement is not expected to reduce the rattle. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and that engineering is currently developing a solution which will be available in Q3 2024. Monitor OASIS and schedule a follow up appointment with the customer when the fix becomes available.

Some 2020\-2026 Aviator/Explorer/F\-150/Bronco/Ranger vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L \(non\-diesel\) engine may need the front engine cover removed and reinstalled for various reasons. The Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-01 Engine \> Removal and Installation \> Engine Front Cover service procedure has been updated to include a new essential special service tool \(ESST\) guide pin alignment tool \(303\-1790\) that is used to align the engine front cover to the engine block, preventing the O\-ring seal on the engine oil galley feed tube from getting damaged during installation.
- [TSB 26\-2380](/bulletins/11037537.md), 2026-09-29, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a "Sta\-bar Disconnect Service Required" message in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) with any of the following diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) stored in the chassis control module \(CHCM\): C103A, C1A99, C1B03, C1B07, C1B14 and/or B1A67. This may be due to water intrusion in the stabilizer bar wiring harness connector.
- [SSM 55118](/bulletins/11036529.md), 2026-09-01, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some of the following vehicles: \* 2023\-2025 F\-Super Duty built on or before 02\-Feb\-2025 \* 2024\-2026 Ranger/Bronco/Mustang \* 2024\-2025 F\-150 built on or before 15\-Jul\-2025 \* 2024\-2025 Nautilus built on or before 16\-Feb\-2025 \* 2025 Explorer/Aviator built on or before 01\-Feb\-2025 may exhibit all of the following symptoms: \- "No Key Detected" message displayed on the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). \- Key fob does not work in the backup slot. \- Remote keyless entry \(RKE\) \(lock and unlock from the key fob\) functionality will work to lock/unlock the vehicle. If the vehicle exhibits these symptoms, start the vehicle using both key fobs. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" concern is present, reprogram both key fobs and retest. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" is still present, replace the body control module \(BCM\). Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 419\-10. Repair as necessary. If the condition was caused by improper door installation, do not submit a claim for this condition. If no concerns are found with the connector, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 501\-11 \> Diagnosis and Testing for normal diagnostics.
