# Service bulletin SSM 52147

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2023 F\-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 12 inch center display screen and driver assistance package DBCAY \(minor feature code\) may exhibit the brakes applying without brake pedal input during parking lot type driving below 5 mph \(8 km/h\). To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double\-clicking the vehicle identification number \(VIN\) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System \(PTS\) OASIS report. This may be due to the Front Brake Assist feature of the vehicle. If the customer finds this feature too sensitive, it can be turned off in the vehicle's center display screen in the Features \> Driver Assistance menu. This feature is unrelated to the Pre\-Collision Assist feature of the vehicle. To disable the pop\-up message that Front Brake Assist is off every time the vehicle is restarted and permanently disable the feature, download and perform the IPMA \- Image Processing Module A \(IPMA\) Configuration application using the latest version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use caus

Some 2023\-2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a trailer brake control module and built on or before 08\-May\-2026 may exhibit a "Trailer Disconnected" message after cycling the ignition off and back on with a trailer connected. This may be due to the presence of an integrated battery charger on a trailer equipped with electric over hydraulic brakes. If trailer functionality is restored after unplugging and plugging the trailer connector back in while the ignition is on, this condition can be corrected by downloading and performing the "Trailer Brake Configuration" application using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 19H332 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4. Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 417\-01 Exterior Lighting \> Diagnosis and Testing \> Trailer Lamps \> Pinpoint Test G has been updated to improve diagnostics for this condition.
- [SSM 54448](/bulletins/11027144.md), 2026-01-06, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2017\-2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a pull/drift condition during braking. This may be due to the brake pads needing to be broken in. Repeated, heavy brake applications may assist to resolve the pull/drift condition. The Workshop Manual, Section 206\-00 Symptom Chart for vehicle pulls or drifts during braking has been updated to reflect this information.
- [SSM 54420](/bulletins/11026508.md), 2025-12-10, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2023\-2026 F\-Super Duty vehicles built on or before 01\-Oct\-2025 may exhibit a "Hill Start Assist Unavailable" and/or "Parking Brake Limited Function" message at vehicle start\-up with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) U0151, U023A, U0159 and/or U0146 stored in the anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) module. These DTCs and/or U0415 may also be present in various other modules related to "invalid data received from the ABS control module". This may be due to the software in the ABS module. To correct the condition, reprogram the ABS module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 2C219 and labor operations 2219D and 2219D44.
- [SSM 54333](/bulletins/11024882.md), 2025-11-04, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SERVICE BRAKES; STEERING. Some 2023\-2025 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a no crank/no start or intermittent no crank/no start with multiple warning indicators and DTC U0100 stored in the anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\), audio front control module \(ACM\) and power steering control module \(PSCM\). This may be due to an incorrectly tightened ground 113 \(G113\). Inspect G113 for proper connection and tighten to 12 Nm \(8.9 ft\-lb\). If the condition remains after tightening G113, perform normal diagnostics outside of this article. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303\-06 Starting System. For claiming, use causal part 12A581 and labor operations 12650D and 12650D45WR of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
- [SSM 54160](/bulletins/11022152.md), 2025-08-26, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. - [SSM 53892](/bulletins/11019650.md), 2025-06-19, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2023\-2025 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a "Hill Start Assist Unavailable" and/or "Parking Brake Limited Function" message at vehicle start\-up with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) U0151, U023A, U0159, and/or U0146 stored in the anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) module. These DTCs and/or U0415 may also be present in various other modules related to "invalid data received from the ABS control module". Replacement or reprogramming of the ABS module will not resolve this condition. There is no effect to the parking brake or other vehicle functions. This does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in Q3 2025. Monitor Professional Technician System \(PTS\) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
- [SSM 53889](/bulletins/11019647.md), 2025-06-19, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. - [SSM 52590](/bulletins/11001366.md), 2024-06-10, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2023\-2024 F\-Super Duty vehicles may require a replacement of the anti\-lock brake system \(ABS\) module for various reasons. Replacing the ABS module may result in an error state with diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) C0020:64 stored in the ABS module due to the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System \(FDRS\) software. If directed to replace the ABS module \(2C219\) during normal diagnostics in the Workshop Manual, replace the complete ABS module/hydraulic control unit \(2C215\) instead to avoid this error state. Monitor OASIS for updates.
