# Service bulletin TSB002620

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Published by NHTSA: 2023\-12\-26
- Manufacturer's number: TSB002620

## NHTSA's summary

TSB: All 2020 ? 2023 model year 4Runner, 2018 ? 2022 model year Sequoia, 2018 ? 2023 model year Tacoma, and 2018 ? 2021 model year Tundra vehicles are equipped with Pre\-collision System \(PCS\) and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control \(DRCC\) as part of the Toyota Safety Sense \(TSS\) package. The PCS and DRCC systems are designed to help mitigate a potential collision and maintain a pre\-determined traveling distance. It is recommended to disable the PCS and DRCC systems on vehicles that have been modified \(ride height, oversized wheels/tires, brush bars, etc.\) in a way that potentially disrupts the functionality of these systems. Vehicle owner?s written consent is required before performing the calibration to permanently disable the PCS and DRCC systems. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to disable the PCS and DRCC systems.

TT: Some customers may experience echoing on the line calling the vehicle when using Bluetooth Hands Free. This is caused by the phone Hands Free volume being too low. These settings may need to be reapplied any time the phone is paired to a new head unit, a phone update is applied, or the phone is un\-paired and re\-paired.
- [T\-TT\-0629\-20](/bulletins/10183286.md), 2020-11-30, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; COMMUNICATION. TSB: An initialization procedure is required to activate the Entune? 3.0 App Suite Connect for Audio, Audio Plus, and Premium Audio head units before they are used for the first time on new vehicles. The initialization procedure may also be performed under other circumstances, such as following a head unit replacement or after the customer?s personal settings are erased. The initialization procedure requires between 3 and 15 minutes to complete, depending on file size, cellular connection speed, and other factors. Following the initialization procedure, individual Entune? 3.0 apps may periodically update through an over\-the\-air update system. Updates are either optional or mandatory. The update procedure will take approximately 1 minute for each app requiring an update. Follow the Initialization/Update Procedure in this bulletin to perform the initialization and app updates.
- [T\-SB\-0047\-19 Rev](/bulletins/10179765.md), 2020-09-14, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM\(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM\). TSB: Some 2018 ? 2020 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with a Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation System require a Special Service Tool \(SST\) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update; however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update \(refer to pg. 10\) and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update \(refer to pg. 4\). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the Embedded Navigation Update and provide telematic map services for a period of two years from the day that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. Activation card numbers are provided in an activation card number pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system.
