Service bulletin SA-054-23

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

09-024-262026-09-02. Service bulletin. DESCRIPTION Some vehicles may exhibit a condition in which a warning buzzer (error sound) is heard, and the power liftgate (PLG) does not open or close automatically. When these symptoms happen, DTCs B144F:11 or B144F:13 may be stored. B144F:11 Power liftgate (PLG) drive unit motor circuit malfunction B144F:13 Power liftgate (PLG) drive unit motor circuit malfunction NOTE: The liftgate can be opened or closed manually, though effort may be higher without the motor assist. Due to improper assembly of the brush spring within the PLG unit motor, the contact pressure of the brush decreases, resulting in poor continuity. As a result, sufficient current may not be supplied to the motor. The manufacturing process has been improved to ensure proper positioning of the spring during assembly.
