Service bulletin M1589

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Purpose: This bulletin informs dealers that starting on April 26, 2023 with Engine Identification Number (EIN) 1792099421, the Milwaukee-Eight powertrain was being built with neutral colored gaskets. For an unknown period of time, the neutral colored gasket is being used until the supply of black gaskets are reintroduced into production. The visible gaskets are under the lifter covers.
