# Service bulletin TSB 23\-2120

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10236573
- Published by NHTSA: 2023\-05\-23
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 23\-2120

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2018\-2021 Expedition/Navigator and 2020\-2021 Explorer/Aviator vehicles equipped with a 10R80/10R80 MHT or 10R60 may exhibit a momentary transmission neutral\-out condition while in drive. Vehicle may also have diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) P07E6 and/or P07E4 stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\) or transmission control module \(TCM\) and/or a possible audible noise. This may be due to a leak in the park valve circuit. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect the park system hardware for wear or damage and replace the valve body separator plate with an improved valve body separator plate.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [TSB 20\-2291](/bulletins/10179156.md), 2020-09-02, Service bulletin: PARKING BRAKE. This article supersedes TSB 20\-2135 to correct the Service Procedure. Some 2020 Explorer/Aviator/Corsair vehicles built on or before 23\-Jul\-2020 may inadvertently activate the reverse braking assist system while backing up. This may be perceived as the system is too sensitive to surrounding objects. This may be due to the software in the image processing module B \(IPMB\). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the IPMB, as well as the accessory protocol interface module \(APIM\) to allow the vehicle to remember the last setting of reverse brake assist when the vehicle is restarted.
