# Service bulletin TSB 23\-2135

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10236034
- Published by NHTSA: 2023\-05\-24
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 23\-2135
- Manufacturer's date: 2023\-05\-04
- NHTSA component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE/BCM

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2021\-2022 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit various charging system error messages and/or illuminated charging system indicator displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) with diagnostics trouble code \(DTC\) B11DB set within the body control module \(BCM\). This may be due to coolant contamination into the battery monitor sensor \(BMS\) from a leaking transmission fluid heater coolant control valve. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to clean the BMS connector and replace the transmission fluid heater coolant control valve.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 52333](/bulletins/10251950.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE/BCM. Many body control module C \(BCMC\) warranty return parts are coming back with no trouble found. To verify that the BCMC is at fault prior to replacing, perform the following. First, disconnect the battery then check all BCMC connectors for terminal pushout, pin damage, spread terminals, and corrosion. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 100\-00 Wire Terminal Inspection and Replacement. If none found, reconnect the BCMC and battery terminals then recheck functionality. If concern still exists, proceed with BCMC replacement.
- [SSM 51166](/bulletins/10225437.md), 2022-10-31, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE/BCM. Some 2021\-2022 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a condition of intermittent headlamp operation while the vehicle is OFF and have diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) B1533 stored in the body control module \(BCM\). This may be due to the internal logic within the headlamp switch. To correct this condition, replace the headlamp switch \(service base PN: 11654\). Refer Workshop Manual, Section 417\-01.
- [TSB 21\-2456](/bulletins/10205720.md), 2022-01-01, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE. Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with exterior zone lighting may experience the hazard lamps flashing one time intermittently when the hazard lamps are turned off. This condition is due to the body control module \(BCM\) software. This condition occurs when zone lighting is activated then deactivated while the engine is OFF, or during an engine auto\-start\-stop event. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the BCM.
