# Service bulletin SSM 51590

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2021\-2022 F\-150 vehicles equipped with light duty electric park brake calipers \(minor feature code FAJAK\) may exhibit a squeal noise from the rear brakes after sitting for 8 hours or more. To confirm a vehicle is built with minor feature code FAJAK, review the build information by double\-clicking the vehicle identification number in the upper left\-hand corner in the Professional Technician System \(PTS\). To correct this condition, replace rear brake disc \(ML1Z\-2C026\-C\) and rear brake pads, caliper pin bolts, and brake pad holding clips \(ML3Z\-2200\-E\) on both sides of the vehicle. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 206\-04 Rear Disc Brake. For claiming, use causal part number 2552 and applicable labor times from Section 02 of the Service Labor Times Standard Manual. NOTE: Using incorrect service parts on the braking system could impair brake performance.
