# Service bulletin SSM 51536

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

For 2000\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number \(VIN\) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual \(WSM\) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [TSB 26\-2092 V2](/bulletins/11037678.md), 2026-10-01, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. This article supersedes TSB 25\-2466 to add Bronco Sport, Escape, Maverick and Corsair, as well as removing Expedition and Navigator. One time use parts for Corsair and Bronco Sport were also added to the parts list. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a headliner rattle or sagging condition around the roof opening panel. This may be due to the adhesive separating from the headliner substrate.
- [TSB 26\-2380](/bulletins/11037537.md), 2026-09-29, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. This article supersedes TSB 25\-2575 to update the Parts list to add the applicable body wiring harnesses and underbody shield bolts. Some vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a "Sta\-bar Disconnect Service Required" message in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) with any of the following diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) stored in the chassis control module \(CHCM\): C103A, C1A99, C1B03, C1B07, C1B14 and/or B1A67. This may be due to water intrusion in the stabilizer bar wiring harness connector.
- [SSM 55118](/bulletins/11036529.md), 2026-09-01, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some of the following vehicles: \* 2023\-2025 F\-Super Duty built on or before 02\-Feb\-2025 \* 2024\-2026 Ranger/Bronco/Mustang \* 2024\-2025 F\-150 built on or before 15\-Jul\-2025 \* 2024\-2025 Nautilus built on or before 16\-Feb\-2025 \* 2025 Explorer/Aviator built on or before 01\-Feb\-2025 may exhibit all of the following symptoms: \- "No Key Detected" message displayed on the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). \- Key fob does not work in the backup slot. \- Remote keyless entry \(RKE\) \(lock and unlock from the key fob\) functionality will work to lock/unlock the vehicle. If the vehicle exhibits these symptoms, start the vehicle using both key fobs. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" concern is present, reprogram both key fobs and retest. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" is still present, replace the body control module \(BCM\). Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 419\-10. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and labor operation MT55118SSM up to 1.8 hours.
- [SSM 55093](/bulletins/11036301.md), 2026-08-20, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE:BODY; VISIBILITY/WIPER. Some 2021\-2026 F\-150 vehicles may exhibit a concern of the windshield wipers not parking in the correct position on the windshield and/or over\-traveling. This may be due to incorrect alignment of the wiper pivot arm on the wiper linkage assembly. Wiper pivot arms may or may not be equipped with an alignment key. Alignment keys are a manufacturing aid and are not needed for proper alignment and operation. In some instances, it may be necessary to remove this alignment key to achieve proper alignment. Replacement of the wiper pivot arm, due to a missing alignment key is a not warrantable. Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 501\-16.
- [SSM 55069](/bulletins/11036103.md), 2026-08-11, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY/WIPER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2020\-2025 Explorer vehicles equipped with a power roof opening panel may exhibit a sunshield with localized bunching or binding/inoperative. This may be due to a broken or missing sunshield fabric retainer/clip. A revised sunshield clip \(LJ6Z\-5452118\-B\) is now available to address this condition. It is not necessary to replace the entire sunshield assembly if the clip\(s\) are broken or missing. Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 501\-17 Roof Opening Panel \> General Procedures \> Inspection and Replacement of the Roof Opening Panel Shield Clip.
- [SSM 55009](/bulletins/11035101.md), 2026-07-20, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2021\-2026 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a "Park Brake Limited Function Service Required" message in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\). This may be due to an issue with the driver door harness connector after removing and installing the removeable doors. If diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) B1625:29 is stored in the driver door module \(DDM\), inspect connector C322C between the upper and lower door hinges that attaches to the body for proper installation and/or pin fitment. Repair as necessary. If the condition was caused by improper door installation, do not submit a claim for this condition. If no concerns are found with the connector, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 501\-11 \> Diagnosis and Testing for normal diagnostics.
- [25N10S1](/bulletins/11034214.md), 2026-07-01, Other: STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Certain 2017\-2025 F\-450 – F\-600 Chassis Cab Upfitted with an Aerial Bucket Frame Rail Crack
- [TSB 26\-2298](/bulletins/11034123.md), 2026-06-29, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY/WIPER; STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. This article supersedes 25\-2551. Reason for update: to correct the descriptions for the liftgate glass weather seals. Some of the vehicles listed in the model statement above may exhibit paint wearing along on the top inner edge of the tailgate where the rear window weather strip contacts the tailgate. This may be due to the accumulation of dirt between the rear window seal and tailgate.
- [SSM 54646](/bulletins/11032252.md), 2026-05-05, Service bulletin: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2020\-2024 Explorer/Police Interceptor Utility hybrid vehicles may exhibit a "Refuel Error See Manual" message in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) after installing a replacement fuel filler door assembly \(7827936\). This may be due to a concern with the replacement fuel filler door assembly. If diagnostics in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 501\-14 Body \> Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems \> lead to fuel filler door switch replacement, install a new fuel filler door assembly ordered from depot stock to correct this condition. Suspect parts have been cleared from parts depot inventory.
- [SSM 54705](/bulletins/11030820.md), 2026-04-06, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2021\-2025 F\-150 vehicles may exhibit an "Active Air Dam System Fault See Manual" warning message displayed in the instrument panel cluster \(IPC\) and/or an AAD hanging/not retracting. This may be due to a broken AAD actuator to air dam bolt or bolts. If diagnostics lead to ADD actuator as the causal part, a new lower\-level service bolt and u\-nut are available. It is not necessary to replace the AAD actuator if only the bolt\(s\) are damaged.
