# Service bulletin TSB 23\-2115

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2015\-2020 F\-150 and 2017\-2022 F\-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a lack of heat or cooling from the cabin vents when the climate control settings are adjusted between hot and cold. This may be due to a stuck/binding temperature door within the climate control housing or binding/inoperative temperature door actuator. Diagnostic trouble code \(DTC\) B1081:07 may be present in the front controls interface module \(FCIM\) or heating ventilation and air conditioning \(HVAC\) module. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to remove the climate control housing and replace the temperature door cam\(s\), lubricate the temperature blend door bearing surface, and apply flock tape to actuator to seal out debris.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 52476](/bulletins/10254138.md), 2024-05-03, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT. All accessory stick\-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated \(wired\) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System \(DPES\); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com \> Parts and Service \> Parts Product Line Information \> Keys/Entry Devices \> Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

- [TSB 23\-2345](/bulletins/10245357.md), 2023-11-21, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM\(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM\); EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT. Some 2021\-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may exhibit the navigation feature in the center display screen only displaying imperial \(feet and miles\) units and not being able to change to metric \(meters and kilometers\) units. This may be due to the software level of the SYNC module \(APIM\). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the APIM to the latest software level via a coordinated flash. NOTE: The APIM software update that addresses the symptom listed in this article may have been sent via Ford Power\-Up software updates delivered over\-the\-air \(OTA\) to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the vehicle identification number \(VIN\) in Professional Technician System \(PTS\) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. If an update to the APIM has successfully completed recently and the customer is reporting the symptoms are no longer present, this article may not apply.
- [SSM 51962](/bulletins/10244827.md), 2023-11-03, Service bulletin: SERVICE BRAKES; EQUIPMENT. Some 2016\-2018 F\-150 and 2016\-2017 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may require pressure bleeding of the brake system. The brake system pressure bleeding procedure in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 206\-00, has been updated to add a warning to not apply the brake pedal or master cylinder damage may occur.

- [SSM 51947](/bulletins/10243652.md), 2023-10-06, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015\-2019 F\-Super Duty and 2015\-2020 F\-150/Mustang vehicles may require replacement of the powertrain control module \(PCM\) for various reasons. While performing a programmable module installation \(PMI\) using the Integrated Diagnostic Service \(IDS\) scan tool, an error message may state: Configuration Failed, Would You Like To Retry? This may be due to improper module replacement steps. Make sure that the original module is installed in the vehicle, delete the vehicle session, then start a new vehicle session. Once the session starts, run the PCM PMI and install the new PCM only when the scan tool instructs. Finish the PMI by following the prompts given by IDS. If the original PCM is not available, it is possible to configure the module by running as\-built programming on the PCM. When IDS asks to obtain part numbers or configuration data, select configuration data.
- [SSM 51937](/bulletins/10243609.md), 2023-10-05, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles equipped with power folding mirrors may exhibit power folding mirrors that are inoperative or exhibit a clicking sound. This may be due to the mirrors being manually folded in, during transportation, going through a car wash, bumped in a parking lot, or found during pre\-delivery inspection \(PDI\). Prior to the replacement of any components, attempt to synchronize the mirrors by following the Power Mirrors Synchronization procedure. Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\) Section 501\-09 Rear View Mirrors \- General Procedures \- Power Mirrors Synchronization.
